I just tested PAL robot tank in my 2600+ and it works just fine. Played a couple of days. So it seems you are correct

Or introduce the foam that some early activision carts used to have. I had to make one to get an Enduro cart working. Foam inserts

Just picked this one up. In a tatty box with 1 Joypad. The unit is in very nice condition. PAL with asteroids built in.

Purchased this lot of loose carts as an untested loft find with a 2600 light sixer. Had a lot of trouble with the Activision carts and resorted to adding foam to the Enduro as it just didn't seem stable in the slot. Works great now on the 2600+ The boxed ones are a bit tatty but all working after serious cleaning . £20 of FB marketplace locally
