Asteroids for me. That one gets me hooked and I play again and again.

I love Donut Dodo. It feels like Fix It Felix or Donkey Kong, just made for today. (I know wreck it Ralph wasn’t old). This game is super fun but enjoyable. However, damn that toilet to Hell. if you haven’t gotten this game yet, please do. It is cheap as welll at like 5 bucks. great for relaxing and do a few runs before house work calls.

I am glad you find the game easy. You are an inspiration to us all. I am sorry you found parts of my post irrelevant. I was setting the stage to show that some wives and daughters pull on a person’s personal time, make messes, and generally want to be loved. That cuts into gaming time a little bit especially when gaming is a fun diversion. So, I hope there is relevance there for you.

So a bit of background -42 years old -Married with kid -Play games on normal most of the time. -Not amazing at any game except perhaps No Mercy. I am okay at that one. Let’s talk about this hellacious game. Dude, that spike in difficulty in the first four levels in WORLD 1 is vicious. The first Void level had me raging. I still couldn’t beat the vertical wall climbs without a star, my first time using the stupid star. I hoped it would get rough on the third world but goodness no. They come out fighting with a crazy spike on World 1!!!! And here I am without gaming talent. So my question here is, is Run and jump too brutal to be fun for a casual. I know they add the stars and the checkpoints to make it easier but stars take away all danger, not some. Maybe a difficulty mode with an Easy that should also have included less spikes and no ability to get the challenge orbs. maybe a few less enemies. what do you think? Where did it start killing you to frustration point because I am not good at games, I just like having fun. Mr Run and Jump is a type of fun, it just might not be my type of fun.

Can’t say this is the rpg I wanted on the VCS but I will give it a look. I want an Atari Mania rpg like Mario Rpg.

Mascots have to be slightly cute, can work in lots of games, simple-ish to draw. They also have to NOT be Bubsy. That only leaves one choice, the bear of the hour, my friend and yours. Bentley Freaking Bear.

My top five thus far… 1) Mr Run and Jump 2) Ends Reach 3) Atari Mania 4) BPM Boy 5) Asteroids Recharged but I only have 8 games for the console thus far so I am not the one to ask.

Mine would have to be Asteroids or Yars. I play them both quite a bit and I suck at them.

Love this demo and cannot wait to play it. It was so fun that I went through the dungeon three times trying to collect things and explore. they have a winner here for sure. Eta?

If you could have any game on the VCS given a sequel, updated to mostly modem graphics, and released, what games would you pick for each genre? Platformer: Bentley Bear First Person Shooter: Major Havoc Action RPG: Adventure Sports: Friggin Ninja Golf is hilarious and I want more Shooting Game: Outlaw but like Sunset Riders with a touch of humor. Turn Based RPG: Commander Champion & the Atari Force (Like Buck Rogers on the Sega Genesis) What about you?

I know. If I didn’t like a console and lll Preach. But even if it makes it 4 or 5 years, they will Find a way to be negative about it. I love this company and I like the VCS. It is amazing that I am playing a new Atari console in 2023. This “failure” has more games than any other console except the 2600. It is chugging along and I will hear for the ride. ps Long live Bentley 🐻
