  1. I would like to participate in the beta test. I am in the UK and have well over 70+ PAL 2600 carts and a dozen 7800 carts Barnyard Blaster, Crossbow, Donkey Kong Junior, Hat Trick, Joust, Karateka, Pole Position II and Xevious. I know the first two are light gun games but I think at least one had controller option. And a few of the others showed black screen and work fine on my original 7800. Thanks!

  2. I found some info that I hope might be useful info for anyone using an OSSC. Normally I have no issues with the monitor I use for any other consoles connected to the OSSC but it looks like the 7800 GameDrive does not like it all.

I used the following settings on OSSC:

Analogue Sync LPF = 33Mhz (min)
    Analogue STC LPF = 4.8Mhz (HDTV/PC)
    Analogue Sync Vth = 123mV
    HSync tolerance = 19.38 us
    VSync tolerance = 23.38 us
    H-PLL Pre-Coast = 1 lines
    H-PLL Post-Coast = 0 lines

On my usual monitor I got a black screen. I then tried it with a portable monitor and managed to get it displaying once with some issues with screen going black randomly. I tried with my living room TV and got a black screen. All of these normally run fine with any other console plugged into the OSSC.

I ran out of displays to test and thought for the sake of it to try a HDMI to USB PC capture dongle, its a really cheap one for less than £10 online (see photo). And surprisingly it worked first time, absolutely no issues at all!

I tried it with my normal capture card (avermedia with passthrough to a monitor) and got the black screen....

Not sure what is the cause of the issue, the GameDrive or OSSC, but thought I would mention it here as I really wanted to get it working one way or another :) Hopefully the info might help find the cause and OSSC owners can enjoy the 7800 via OSSC properly!

  3. Did you get a chance to get the profile or settings for the PAL console. I can't seem to get mine working with my OSSC apart from literally a split second display of the menu occasionally, but nothing that remains on screen. The cable appears to be working fine as it works perfectly when used on my Amstrad CPC monitor and CRT TV. Thanks.
