  1. I just want to know if my PAL Circus Convoy cart is going to work properly!
  2. My brother came to spend Xmas with us. Last night we played Combat against each other, 44 years to the day after we unwrapped our original VCS and he then played against my 8 year old boy. They were then fighting over the joystick to play Space Invaders. That was just a wonderful experience and I just wanted to thank @Ben from Plaion and the team for putting together this amazing machine.
  3. Yes! That and their insta posts showing you all the sparkly new stuff that they won't sell you. I'm really counting our blessings that we got the 2600+ at all.
  4. Minotaur Rescue was such a gem. I hate touch screen controls usually but it felt really good with just the right amount of inertia and it had a 2600 art style going on. It's the only mobile phone game I really loved. Did you ever play Goat Up in VR? It sounds like a ridiculous fit but it worked so well. I still lament that amazing Tempest 4000 VR build that Jeff demoed at gaming expos that Atari pulled the plug on. Akka Arrh would have really benefitted from that as well.
  5. I wrote to Atari over a week ago and asked if they had any plans for European distribution. I got a "we got your email" message back and then...absolutely nothing. Seems ridiculous to sell you a machine that plays the games that are are currently selling, and then refuse to sell you those games. Surely doing a deal where they sell a number of carts like they did with Mr Run and Jump and Bezerk through Amazon wouldn't be too difficult to sort out?
  6. Has anyone got PAL Stargate to work? It's still showing as untested on the revised compatibility list. I've coaxed every cart back into life except this one and it's connections are gleaming it's been cleaned so much. I need to know if I have to write it off as a broken cart or if it'll get fixed in a firmware update. Thanks.
  7. I would love to see Tempest 3000 up and running on this but I get that would be a big ask. Also Space Giraffe needs a bigger audience than it got and Minotaur Rescue needs to be ummm...rescued from it's IOS hell.
  8. There's one other game I'd love to see and that's Ultra Action Guys. A game with rampant dinosaurs, screaming jet fighters, stealthy ninjas, guns blazing action heroes and high end Sports cars - all depicted in a graphical style guaranteed to crush the dreams of a small boy. Let's make it happen.
  9. A new version of ET where you have to run around a New Mexico landfill site, falling into pits hoping to find ET cartridges that Atari buried in the 80's while avoiding retro game collectors who will steal your carts to put them on ebay, and the mayor who wants to stop you stealing New Mexico's property and will drag you to City Hall. If you run out of energy, Howard Scott Warshaw will run onscreen and revive you. When you have all three carts, you need to find the special icon to hail an Uber to take you to the National Videogame Museum to put them on display. Or Montezuma's Revenge. That would be sweet and it hardly appears for resale over here.
  10. I've amassed a great collection with only splashing out on a handful of carts so far. My main issue with buying carts now is Atari.com who somehow can't manage to ship theirs outside the US which is just astounding. I'm starting to appreciate how incredibly lucky we were to get the 2600+ in the UK at all.
  11. I had the same issue with missing bullets on Battlezone (which i thought was a PAL cart but it displays in it's proper colours which suggests it isn't!) but that got rectified by turning off Motion Plus on my Samsung TV. Not sure if that helps.
  12. Absolutely. It's strange to be able to walk into CEX now and buy current gen titles for a tenner, when I could only get an Atari 2600 cart for Xmas or birthdays IF I was lucky. Compared to a lot of retro games, HERO is still on the affordable side (mine cost me the same as a brand new PS5 game) and I knew I wanted the experience of playing an original cart (via emulation of course) with an authentic feeling joystick. Totally worth the money.
  13. I haven't used the original paddles in many years, so i don't know if it's just invented memories or not, but they seem slow in comparison. The TV i'm using doesn't have a low latency gaming mode, so it might improve if i use another one. At the moment they seem to have a little drag and don't seem to have the "zip" to make Kaboom a truly playable experience.
