  1. I heard about Atari releasing DLC for their Atari 50 compilation with games from M Network when Mattel decided to port their games to the 2600. Maybe they’ll put it on their new VCS too, since they now have the rights to the Intellivision catalogue and all?
  2. Apparently, the 80s model 2600 released along with the 5200 sells better than any other Atari product on eBay or the actual Atari website.

Which is fine because I think the black model looks way past cool.

  3. Is it me or has the Atari+ platforms made the original consoles look cute?

Think about it…they’re smaller than their original counterparts, about as small as dedicated Flashback ones.

    That’s why I think they’re so cute.

How so?  Like in a good way or in a bad way? They are a lot bigger than the originals...

Oh, don’t worry…I was complimenting the two.

i just like the Atari brand and thought it would be funny to say the two consoles looked cuter.

I think the 7800+ looks pretty spiffy!

Yeah they're smaller (I assume,   I mean I haven't got it yet)...Sometimes there's pronoun trouble on the internet, like whether "They" means the originals or the + series...But I think you're both saying roughly the same things...They are cool looking to me,   If they were even more mini,  then I'd call'em cute.  :)

  4. Sorry I disrupted everyone on here.

I just read the guidelines for posting on here long after I joined AtariAge and didn’t want to ruin the website a second time with what I posted last.

I hope I can better use this platform by following the guidelines more and refrain from offending anyone else.

I would feel much more safer discussing personal stuff on Mastodon than I would on an Internet forum.

Let’s have more fun from now on…

I'll be honest: Mullet is more unapologetically disruptive than you. If anything, just don't be vagueposting all the time, and we gucci. Just ignore the trolls and move on, because let's be real, not everyone is gonna be with open arms and happy to see you right away.

In fact, the lack of a reaction towards my name change from "r_chase" to "Cheez26" really shows that not everybody is gonna know who I was nor care about it. I'm just an enby who enjoys retrogaming, but I don't bring up politics very often. >_>

With all that said, try and gain some confidence and self-esteem; plus, be your best self and maybe, just maybe, you'll gain the respect you want. ❤️

Also, ignore the trolls. Just ignore them. That is all.

  5. Since Atari bought Intellivision recently, are they going to continue the Amico console?

An original console with removable controllers, family-friendly games, and something new to play would've been nice.

If not, how the heck am I going to acquire an original Intellivision console in the first place?

    1. Biff Burgertime

      Biff Burgertime

The first thing Atari did after buying Intellivision was announce that the Amico was not part of the deal, they wanted to make that clear right away. The Amico façade continues on with John Alvarado making empty promises to a handful of naïve hopefuls looking on.

Amico the console isn't coming out, the promised Bluetooth controller isn't coming out, and I'll be surprised if any more Amico Home games come out.

Re: Intellivision, I'd say keep your eyes peeled for an Intellivision Flashback on eBay. Make sure it's complete so you get all the controller overlays - they're vital for Intellivision games. In my opinion, Intellivision plays a little more like board games than other video game consoles. Some games can be pretty complex.

i'm still waiting for my refund on that Amico. I agree about the Flashback. I have one signed by the Blue Sky Rangers....I suppose I could sell it, mainly because I never got into the console BITD. And I got all the overlays...just was always an Atari guy.

  6. Yeah, that makes sense. I had just used a flash drive to install Ubuntu Linux on my VCS yesterday.
  7. I thought I wanted one for Christmas before I too saw that they were sold out…I had already put it on my list. I even checked eBay for it and the only one remaining costs $60. I think what my Dad and I figured out beforehand is that you just need your own capable computer OS drive stick to install what you want on the VCS. I have three boot drives where I live and used one of them for SteamOS and two more for Linux distros (Ubuntu and Linuxmint, I had replaced Debian and Windows 10 with the latter) but to no avail and wanted the official one from Atari thinking their version was pre-installed unless I suppose I could make or find a pre-installed boot dive somehow?
  8. Does anyone here know that I’m religious, not just an Internet user?

My profile information says that I like to pray because I’m Christian.

So it feels like people here are abusing their own humanity on here because it’s an Internet forum.

I’m not just a millennial, you know.

That's fine and dandy for me as a Christian queer...and I won't go any further other than:
      1. Don't shove it down people's throats!
      2. Just don't bring it up here on AtariAge!!

As most people here have said, this is about video games, not religion and politics. Especially do not bring up anything to do with them culture wars. lmao

Seems like a good number of people who use the Internet have a version of autism/Asperger's and they don't even know it.

  9. Sorry, Internet jocks.

Even if you attack me, I still want to use AtariAge for video game stuff.

I came on this website for a reason.

So don’t condemn your neighbor for what he believes just because he doesn’t believe the same things as you…because the world does not revolve around all of you and you have no authority over me at all.

I put up with enough jerks like you.

To those of you who treat don’t actually treat me like that, thanks.

To those attacking me…keep your criticism to yourselves and stop.

I didn’t come here just to get treated like I’m on Facebook or Reddit because I actually left those places because of scum like you people.

    It’s just a website…no trolling allowed.

      What's an "internet jock?"

    2. Cheez26

      Cheez26

@Razzie.P Probably another way to say "internet tough guy" or something. There's a lot of them on this forum and most of them are, like, willfully ignorant about where Atari got their consoles and stuff from. I can tell you that the 7800+ is not made here in the US. Neither are Atari cartridges. In fact, even in the 80's, most carts were manufactured in an Asian country...and guess which Asian country is that. >:3

  10. A guy on the VGC’s website just snapped at me for no reason and berated me because I talked bad about Japan and their video games.

I think he’s an internet troll on there.

    Ech.

      *sigh* Everyone’s a critic.

  11. I’m just glad Atari is still alive. I really enjoy playing Atari games on the VCS instead of on the Switch. Atari needs more support from us all.
  12. That’s awesome! Now Atari needs to make themselves known on Mastodon instead of the Brand X platform…what? I don’t use Brand X. Digital Eclipse is on Mastodon though: https://mastodon.online/@DigitalEclipse
  13. Just caught up on my childhood webtoon Eddsworld this evening.

First, Matt gets kidnapped by an eagle, and then the three go bowling and hijinks ensure.

Way to have a ball, you three. And what colorful vocabulary you have, you three!

Check them out here, you wanker: https://www.youtube.com/user/eddsworld

  14. I don’t have a ColecoVision yet, but what do you guys think that your favorite games for the system are?
  15. Where would I be able to find these classic consoles that I’m considering? ColecoVision Intellivision Sega Master System TurboGraphx-16 (someone offered to sell me this one) I do have the Odyssey2 but the console is huge and the controllers are welded onto the console itself. The games are fine though, I just don’t know if I have enough for one hulking Odyssey2 in my bedroom. The only other non-Atari console I have out is the Sega Dreamcast for Phantasy Star Online but I don’t seem to be playing it much lately.
