  1. It is, it's not just Pinball, it's also Breakout, and some other breakout type of things. I love Breakout, I dont own it on any other console but if it's anywhere as cool as it is on video pinball I'm gonna go out and buy one.what do you guys think? 2. quote: -^Cro§Bow^- - What I can't figure out is, why they are doing this? Infograme bought the Atari name and logo to better get them recognized on the market. And they are using the Fuji, and Atari logo on their new games and in the comercials. But if they feel that removing this information from the classic arcades is helping them, then they are wrong. Because I feel that they would get much better press if they left the Fuji and Atari name to the classics and simply added to the copyright with their name and or logo of Infograme below that. They are doing this so consumers only think Atari is a software company owned by infrogames, they dont want people knowing the horrible and wonderful past of Atari. 3. I have, On my handspring, they are pretty cool, and the controlls and graphics a decent but why have games for a PDA when you can get them for the GBP-GBC-GBA? which has alot better control and graphics.
  4. then why dont we just convince that company to market it in America and support developers here to make more american games for it.
  5. well it may take me a while, and alot of studying of the actual hardware involved I could do it. may take me a year or two. maybe more. all of my research and design would be free, so all there would be is production costs. I also need to get in touch with some real modern gaming programers to get an idea of what to design the system around, and to program the basic I/O function of the system. no backwards compatability makes things VERY easy for me you really arent limited on cart size, or disk space if you make the carts on CF cards. Type 2 you could have up to a Gig of program space! and you can edit the games on your computer and test em right on the system! it would be the easiest system to program for! CF cards run $13USD for a basic 64 MB CF card in bulk rates for manufactures. so the cost of games would be kept low. what do you guys think? as for the system hardwae design is what I love! The case could be designed from the guy who makes the VCSp. he already has some know-how on how to make a this type of system. The cost, at absolute most: 237.82 thats with the most nicest parts. I've already made the calculations. maybe the processor should be of the ARM based systems. not as slow as the GBA though. maybe, 250Mhz. and graphics a 3D accelorator with 2D subset would make it a kick butt system. well thats what I think.
  6. what do you mean? someone else came up with the idea before him? more info is definatly needed, I just tore apart my lynx and started working.
  7. I can probably reverse engineer the original lynx's designs to make a backward compatability
  8. I dont have the money but I am a hardware engineer with degrees in printed curcuit designs I could with the help of programers design somthing like what you guys want. It wouldent cost me any money cause I've already got a really nice CAD computer at my house. I could do the work in my spare time. but as for manufacturing one of these software publishers would like to back that. as for features AtariAge could host a pole as to what people want. this is not at all impossible.
  9. I actually think that relesing a small amount of information before you relese the game is good, then after it is out, post all of your notes. that way people can play the game, then study up on it. but thats just what I perfer doing.
  10. That sounds great I'll throw in the track ball for those two games My e-mail is jonathan-newman@attbi.com
  11. You Bet I'd be interested, I've been wanting to get my hands on a jag for some time now, I have a 5200, two port, two working controllers, power supply, and switch box, I;ll also throw in centipeede, Defender, and Qbert. It's everything you need. if you want it, let me know, Right now I'm in CA. (I could also include a brand new out-of-box track ball if you have anything else to go with the Jag, or something for the 2600/7800) [ 01-15-2002: Message edited by: marialover ]
  12. Ok, I have to go away for a while,(Two Years)and I want to put my atari stuff someplace verysafe I have these wooden crates I'm going to put it into But I want to ensure that they dont deteriorate or oxidize does anyone here have any ideas or experience in packing and preserving the old hardware. Thanx for the advise
  13. Actually thats sort of what I figured, but I wanted to let people understand what sort of thing I going to build. I actually think I can combine the curcuitry of the 130XE and the 5200 and put a hardware buffer to switch between the two different settings. I wanted to put in the removeable keyboard of the XEGS so that why i wanted info on that. so I could figure out how to do that. still I need any and all info people can give me. I'm also thinking wireless controllers, 900Mhz or 2.4 Ghz that would eliminate cords all together.
  14. I am actually working out the details of building such a box. but not with so meny things. I am designing a system that is compatable with 2600/5200/7800/400/800/XE systems. but still need some info before I can print the circuit. what I need a detail schematics for the XEGS. I've got everything else in order.
  15. is there any way to download the roms from this web page and put them onto roms to play on the game systems? not to run them off of emulators, but on a cart in the machine, in front of the TV?
  16. Thats because legend of zelda and a sipmple atari game are two diffrent things. atari games take skill to master, nintendo games are just adventure games that a ten year old can do.
  17. I want to know the EXACT differences between the 5200 and the atari 800/400/XE systems. I want to try to make a combined system, with a cart prot that will accept both types of carts, (or somthing to that effect). and put in a hardware buffer to switch between the two settings. I dont think I would want to make such a thing to sell, I want to make it cause it would be interesting to try. anyone have any ideas to help me would be great. I also need detaild schematics for the XEGS or other 8-bit computer. thanks to Atariage, I have what I need for the 5200. I actually plan on designing a new curcuit board that would handle both systems. I also want to make it alot smaller.
