  1. remeber those cars way back when, that would change colors when you put them under hot water? Well, I should paint a 2600 with that! and then while your laying it, you run it under some hot water and watch the color change on the system, and the colors get weird on the screen too!!!!!
  2. idiots eh? maybe I should get into painting 2600's and selling them on ebay!!!!!! I'd do coustom paint jobs! like a Pitfall! motif, or Pac-Man or something like that! Racing Stripes for Pole Position!
  3. wow! that is pretty cool! Although he is a theiving scum bag, we should all learn something from this: $10 VCS system + $10 paint = $475 profit! oh, he also dings you $10 shipping! Very smart man IMHO, not a very nice, or good man, just smart.
  4. ahh, lazer disks... why have so many of mine gone to waste due to bit rot and seperation... so sad, so sad...
  5. I've had one XBOX destroy a disk! that and one GC destroy a disk too.
  6. I've never had a PS2 destroy a disk. But I have found that the majority of my PS2s that die are vertical. majority being just a little more than half of the systems that suffer from disk read errors. I think that using the paper clip deal every time might just brake it!...
  7. The 65XE has the "freddie" memory managment chip in it standard. where as the 800XL may or may not have it built in. I've found with my 65XE that it's keys are sensitive enough all I have to do to type on them is a quarter stroke. and the softer keys feel sort of comfy. but thats just a personal pref. everyone is different! I played loads of games that I had, and yet no system to play them on and they were really cool! I especially liked Galaxian, although it's not Galaga (which i prefer) it plays very nicely! I had some problems with my track ball on centipede, I don't know if that game was ment for a track ball or not. but it worked-ish
  8. I'm gonna sell this dude. A picture is worth a thousand words! especially when it's taken from an 6MP camera! I'm looking for a reasonable offer. I just tested this cart on my 65XE, and it works great! here is a screen shot, and a pic of the cart!
  9. lol!!!! yes, despite your most ernest efforts, It still seems to function nicely. I haven't tested that C64c yet... I think it looks really weird! then again the only 8-bit computer I don't think is weird is the Apple IIgs, which technically is a 16-bit with 8-bit backwards compatiblity. Anyways, now I've got some other games to test to see ow they work with my 65XE.
  10. IIRC, these use the NES-on-a-Chip design, and they simply had to re-program all of the games they have to cope with the new system. either that, or they emulate, and there is enough power to do so. anyways, I'm not sure if there is enough brains in these little guys to do something as cool as that! although, it would be very cool if they did! have a DB9 "link" port on both machines, and buy a "link" cable to hook the two up. what would be awsome is if you could hook the two up, and then use that to do screen spanning! have two TVs together making one really wide surface, allowing you to have more game play area! imagine what combat would be like! or pitfall! would be like if you got to see twice the stuff in front of, and behind you at one time!
  11. I got it for $18.50, at the same boot sale I bought my broken Nomad from. Is the 65XE any better than my busted 800XL? or is it just the same? I know the keyboard feels really shmushy but I can live with that, It seems to work just fine though! Hey!!!! I just "actually" tested it with that touch tablet do-hicky I bought at the CGE! it works great!!!!! now... I need that disk drive... and maybe a printer?
  12. It's sort of interesting, We got away from the stand alone consoles witht eh advent of the Fairchild Channel F, and now we seem to be going back to that direction. Given, not for any form of serious graphics or anything, but still! There is a huge amount of money being spent everyday by consumers who buy these little dudes! I think a track ball version would be pretty awsome! Crystal Castles, and Missile Command all the way!!!!!!!!!
  13. I have no ability to prove this to any of you guys. Nor do I feel the urge to do so. And since you guys seemingly flamed me when I simply stated my opinions, and spoke of my PS2 woes... I no longer see the reason for posting on this thread any longer. Thank you Raijin Z I never expected you to have my back, and yet you did. Thank you.
  14. it's not the oldest thread I've seen dug up.
  15. I am pretty cocky. and, I don't give a shit.
  16. ha ha ha ha!!!!!!! can you believe these guys! okay, in order to defend myself: You should know that I am a single mid 20's male with a high paying job. I can afford whatever I want. Additionally, I'm somewhat independently wealthy. Example: at the CGE I bought a $5000 mame machine. not because I'll use it, but because I thought it would look good in my game room. Please don't question how much, or how I spend my money. Secondly: not all of the PS2s I've gone through are ill-repairable. I do have a large pile of PS2s with small things wrong with them that could be fixed if I felt like fixing them. But I don't so the pile gets larger. there are two major problems i have. firstly the drive starts to get disk read errors. usually the very first one is enough to cause me to decommission a PS2. Also I get problems with the controller ports, and memory cards. I have a very limited trust towards something that is so easily replaceable so usually after the first symptom of a problem I might even decommission something. I'm currently finishing off my Master's at San Jose State. So I've got allot of college aged friends. they hash my equipment. parties drinking, whatever, it get hashed. When the PS2 is no longer a mainstream system I'll buy a few more brand new and start using that pile of busted ones for parts. I should be able to keep a working PS2 up and running for quite some time! I've got 12 in the pile so far. Some months I wont have any problems with my PS2s. Others I have to replace them all. I practice the same way of ascertaining a sick system with my XBOXs and Gamecubes. I have a pile of those too!
  17. It's probably best if you don't ask too many questions about our PS2 haters clan!
  18. It's all good. I've placed bids on several Sega Nomads on eBay.
  19. I was so excited when I found it.... and I paid $20 for it.... Damn... damn damn damn!!!!! I'm just gonna have to find a mint box in perfect order, and three systems, along with the "original" carry bag and all the associated accessories. With absolutely no justification aside from the fact that I NOW own one that need replacing. It's not like it was ever on my list of things to get, but now that I have one, I now need the best, of the best, of the best. And all of the rest, of the rest, of the rest. Which all will of course make me the best!
  20. oh well, It'll go into my systems for parts pile. And of course, I'll have to replace the thing!!!!!! anyone have a nomad they want to sell???? I need three.
