I was compiling a8rawconv for Mac but, as luck would have it, I just dropped my Mac off for repair at the Apple Store. I will send you the Mac binary when I receive it back. Yes, please. I will create an upload area for you to upload the Kryoflux files. The ATX files are not important since they can be generated from the Kryoflux dumps and if they match precisely ones that we already have, they won't be used.

Just to make sure _The Doctor_'s comment is clear: be sure you flash eeprom_writer.hex BEFORE you flash SDrive.hex. If you don't do this, strange behavior with occur.
-
By manually attaching the cartridge ROM file in Altirra using the File menu.
-
It is a very strange issue. The OS-B ROM I'm testing with has a CRC of 0E86D61D which Altirra indicates is Atari 400/800 OS-B NTSC vB. Memory is set to 48K. Update: It doesn't seem to be specific to the Telengard CAS. I have the problem with two other BASIC CAS files I tried.
-
I'm seeing the problem with NTSC. Strangely enough, when I try it in PAL mode it works fine...
-
Hi all, I'm seeing some weird behavior with a CAS file on Altirra 3.10 and 3.20-test19. If I boot 800, OS-B, BASIC RevC using "authentic" mode settings and try to CLOAD the tape, I get an ERROR 143. However, if I turn ON C: acceleration, the CAS file loads properly. Any idea what might be causing this? Telengard.zip

Hi all, We're looking for the following original disks from Ariolasoft to dump for the preservation project. I believe these all came in the "LP-style" packaging. 0° Nord Atlantis Bundesliga Cavelord Cromwell House Déjà Vu: Eine Phantastische Geschichte Hotel Memo Box Mythos I Nibelungen Schreckenstein Slot-Machine Can anyone help out?
-
Take a look on our site here: http://a8preservation.com/#/guides/diskDumping Under "Kryoflux and SuperCard Pro" you will see the current list of drives we have successfully used. I won't copy them here so the information doesn't get out of date. Oh, and if you need a flippy modified drive to image double-sided disks, I can connect you with someone that sells them. They are a little pricey but come tested, calibrated and ready to go. Just shoot me a PM if interested.

Guys, I'd ask that we drop this topic. It's not worth discussing and I don't want to comment any further on it. I'd like to continue making our work freely available to the community and want to avoid getting into anything that jeopardizes that.
-
I'd rather not say since it was proactively removed before anyone noticed that might get bent out of shape about it. I've also put safeguards in place to prevent this situation from happening again in the future.

It has been brought to my attention that the latest torrent has a software release that should not be in there as it is still copyrighted software. I ask that everyone stop seeing the torrent and delete any download links until I can release a new version. Thanks for your help. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk

No worries. I will compare your dumps with mine and see if we can consider any verified. -
Is anyone else having a problem with full 1050 emulation? When I enable it, it just drops to self test on reboot like a drive isn't attached...

Antic and Analog disk-of-the-month archives?

Thanks for sharing these. Could you share flux dumps as well or do you just have the ATRs? -
Antic and Analog disk-of-the-month archives?

Here is a dump of a non-original disk I did of that same issue that seems to have a bit more data. I noticed the additional files are unlocked in DOS so it is probably the case that someone added them in after the fact. Might save you some time. Antic Disk Version Vol. 3 No. 07 (1984-11)(Antic Publishing)(US)(Side A)m.atr -
There are definitely some interesting titles there. Would love to get flux dumps of them. As mentioned, Kevin could do it or pheonix on the forum as well. Please don't try to run that Drelbs disk through a drive to make an ATR! We have multiple examples of Synapse titles practically self destructing. You may only get one chance with some of these! Antic and Analog disk-of-the-month archives?
Farb replied to Gunstar's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I have archived quite a few Antic disks (many with two copies) and just haven't gotten around to processing and adding them to the torrent yet. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk -
I would agree that it is less than ideal but also better than many entries saying "Unknown" :-) This would be great, thanks. Let me see what I can put together.
-
No problem at all. I figured it was worth clarifying just in case. Also worth clarifying -- your assistance with any aspect of our humble project would be GREATLY appreciated. I was merely suggesting that the other work you are doing archiving your collection is far more important than the fairly mundane task of updating protection entries in our database If you do have the time and interest to help out, there's plenty of stuff to do and we'd be honored to work with you!
-
Sorry to hear about your health problems and glad you are back in the saddle so to speak :-) Just to make sure it's clear -- the Atari Preservation Initiative has nothing at all to do with SPS. IMHO, the SPS seems to care very little about Atari 8-bit stuff. I've spoken to them several times over the course of the past few years offering to submit the many hundreds of Kroyflux dumps I have if they would finally do the work to support creating IPF files from Atari raw dumps. They have never taken me up on the offer. Thanks for the offer, but it sounds like your time is far better spent doing the work you've been doing and now archiving your collection. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say your work has been greatly appreciated!
-
Yes, sadly, many of those entries have not been filled in on the site yet. If anyone is interested in helping to update the protection entries on the website, I have already written a command-line tool that scans an ATX and outputs the appropriate protection string. I simply haven't had the time to create a script to run it against the preservation torrent and get the output into a format that I can load into the preservation database.

Atari compatible hardware eclaireXL, in mini form.

Love it, love it, love it! Can't wait to get my hands on one Fantastic work! -
The archive is being distributed as a torrent because hosted storage and bandwidth are not free -- torrent seemed the easiest way to work around that issue.
-
Megasync is just a convenience helpfully provided by remowilliams -- not the primary release mechanism. At present, torrent is still primary. A big thanks to Fred_M, Mr. Bacardi, Zarxx, mikic and everyone else that contributed dumps (or help organizing and verifying) for this release.
