Atari should join forces and hire the OpenTTD team (kind of the same way they essencially bought this forum tbh) and help them fund upgrades/console ports/etc. Maybe even hand them the TT and RCT franchises and let the team handle those franchises. They're clearly passionate about it.

Infogrames Acquires Publishing Rights of Co-op Hit Bread & Fred
TopDrawer replied to PowerDubs's topic in Atari News
Meh. I'd prefer if they reacquired Alone in the Dark. Never heard of this game. Is it popular? If so, probably a good move to attain the publishing rights and cash in on its success, I guess. Seems like a reasonable plan for Infogrames to grow. -
This tbh. Such a whatever product. If they want to do prestigeous, Criterion Collection-tier levels of collectors' physical releases, you really have to pump up the quality of what the release will offer. It would've made MUCH more sense if they made Atari 50 the very first installment of the collection, alongside maybe Digital Eclipse's Gold Master titles (Karateka, Tetris Forever, Llamasoft game). Seems kind of a cop out, specially considering the issues that the console allegedly already has on top of it all.

My own personal thoughts on Bubsy the Bobcat
TopDrawer replied to ChefLowKeyAVengefulSavageDog's topic in Atari General
I agree. Still pretty baffled why Atari went with Limited Run of all people to handle the game collection. My guess is that it wasn't actually their call, and this was mostly pre-planned when Billionsoft/Tommo was at helm of the franchise (before Atari reacquired it). I'd much rather prefer if DE handled that instead. With all the classic games (including the Jaguar game), enhanced/game-fixing modes for each game, as well as other game modes, original promo material, ads, interviews with the creators/developers, a whole segment breaking down the development of Bubsy 3D (what went wrong?), maybe a recreation of how Bubsy 3D was originally envisioned to be, a restored high quality version of the TV pilot, etc. -

Basically the Nightdive approach. Re-release clunky boomer FPS games, but bundled with the game option of an enhanced mode with game fixes, etc. Death Jr. was a pretty fun hack n slash for the PSP. It has a very 2000s Hot Topic-esque "quirky cartoony horror" aesthetic (think shit like Invader Zim, Nightmare Before Christmas, etc). It also had a sequel for the PSP and Wii, as well as a spinoff game for the DS. It even had a fairly successful comicbook series, with cover art done by Mike Mignola of all people (creator of Hellboy). It wasn't a showstopper back then, but I can see it sell pretty well tbh (nostalgia factor + that Hot Topic aesthetic is in vogue again). -

I read that too, right when the IP list came out. I seriously hope Digital Eclipse releases a Death Jr. collection and gives it its signature "documentary game" approach to it. Screw it, they should even make a new game after that. Much more deserving of a comeback arc than Bubsy, for sure. That being said, I'd also like to see Bubsy getting redeemed somehow. Here's some interesting concept art for an alleged, official cancelled 3D Bubsy game, at least according to the artist. 1 2 3 and 4 -
Where can you find these documents?

The recent Billionsoft deal is shrouded in mystery for some reason. What happened to the Humongous Entertainment titles? Weren't those also included in the alleged more than 100 titles they acquired?🤔

Atari 50th: Wider World of Atari DLC (Review)
TopDrawer replied to Metal Jesus's topic in Atari News
I know, I've read the IP List thread. I hope they can add those to the collection, as well as the other games like I-War, Bubsy Fractured Furry Tales, Attack of the Mutant Penguins, Breakout 2000, Defender 2000, Space War 2000, all the other Atari titles published by Telegames, etc. -

It would be cool if they eventually release a DLC including most of Bob DeCrescenzo's homebrews that are now getting an official release alongside the 7800+. Bentley Bear's Crystal Quest, Asteroids Deluxe, the works, all those 7800 ports, the works. More, rarer Jaguar games that didn't make the cut into the collection. A Hasbro Interactive section, with all the reimaginings of the Atari classics for the PS1, Glover 1, a finished version of Glover 2. As well as interviews with people like Jayson Hill, explaining Hasbro's original plans with Atari, etc. -

Great vid as usual! Looking forward for the two DLCs. As a graphic designer, really looking forward to Evelyn Seto's interview. I love Atari's iconic sci-fi brand image. It would be really cool if Atari and Digital Eclipse kept supporting and releasing more content to the collection as the years go by. I hope they get a Steve Wozniak interview in the future to talk about the development of Breakout, that'd be really cool. As others have also said in this thread, a Battlezone DLC is a must too. They really need to get that IP back.
