Hello... All of my emulators that worked on XP work in Vista but I've not updated in a good while. I was wondering what the best 2600 emulator was these days? I love StellaX because of it's nice and tidy menu...I tried the latest Stella (not StellaX) and it wouldn't save my directory's when I quit and listed file names rather than the nifty game title and rarity as in StellaX. Any suggestions?

Thanks! I couldn't recall it..I remember when younger not knowing how to pronounce kamikaze listed as a game option and called it (pronounced) KAS MA KAZE..hahaha.

Hello.. What was the name of the Sears version of Street Racer? Thanks, Brian

Space Invaders Adventure Pitfall 2 Star Master Asteroids Haunted House to name a few...

I agree..it is a darn fustrating game but a darn good one too..it was a "crash release" game that never got the notice it should..heck, I never saw it until 1988.
-
Well, Pitfall 2 of course...but Battlezone was good...

I purchased Pitfall 2 when I had already dumped my Atari for the Colecovision with the Atari adapter. And I played it more than my Coleco games.

I always loved the "Dear Atari Anonymous" ad where people came over and never left. They wanted to play Missile Command, etc before they go. I never found a clip of that on the net. Anyone have it? Brian

Mine just fails immediately...gives a fatal error and wants to "report" the error to Microsoft. Sad, because I loved PCAE. Using Z26 now. It works, so I wont complain..for now..

Let me add: Porkys...I actually found it challenging...and that weird shower is still one of the most bizzare things I've seen in a game.

Hey Dan..I like PCAWEIN 2.6 too but it doesn't seem to run anymore on my XP machine..not sure if it has to do with any "Windows Updates" or not. It used to run..

Thanks! I'll give it a try. I really like the one on my PocketPC (Virtual VCS) but it is so hard to control.

Hi! What is the best 2600 emulator for Windows XP these days? I used to use PCAEWIN but it seems it doesn't like Service Pack 2. I cannot get it to run. Thanks, Brian

Hi, How can I get started in making a disk to play some of my Atari 2600 roms on my Dreamcast? Thank you, Brian

Oh, I forgot to mention..I have an Atari 7800 and a Dreamcast also. I guess I am a sucker for dead systems!

I am curious to see where people went from owning an original 2600 to now. This includes retro gaming. My first system was an RCA Studio II. I thought it was great but the black and white graphics started to get old. I finally got a 2600, even though my Dad wanted an Intellivision. I sold my 2600 and SOME games and got a Colecovision. I soon got an Atari adapter and started collecting Atari games again. Then, during my Colecovision era, my folks purchased a Commodore Vic 20. I eventually sold the Vic-20 and stepped up to a Commodore 64. Needing a floppy drive, I sold my Colecovision to fund the purchase. Over a few years, I played TONS of games on this machine and even ran a BBS. Oh, the memories of those days! Selling my Commodore 64 for an Amiga 500 wasn't easy, but it became worth it. The Amiga was my PC of choice from 88 to 94. I eventually stepped up to an Amiga 2000. That ends my string of systems with ties back to my 2600. In 95, I purchased an Atari Jaguar and started my retrogaming collection back up with the 2600. Now, I have most boxed games and even some rare ones. TO me, the 2600 hold the biggest place in my heart!

No..this is BEOFRE they used that Jingle. It was an Atari logo with a (doot doot doot do doot do, etc.) sound playing with the logo. It didn't last but 2-3 seconds. I am looking for that sound.

I remember and friend of mine and I hit reset on Pac-Man over and over again and that stupid song started to found really funny. What was that susposed to be? It is no where near the original song.

Hi! Before the "Have You Played Atari Today" jingle closed out the commericals, they used to play a sound with the Atari logo at the end. Does anyone have this sound on a wav file? Thanks, Brian

I was wondering if any one wanted to share their memories of waiting and then first playing Pac-Man on the 2600? I used to call the Atari 1-800 number once a week to get updates on the release date. I always got the same woman and she would say "Pac-Man will be released in March." In my 6th grade class, I created a poll to have people guess what would be included on Pac-Man. I asked if the song, the cartoons between levels, and sounds would be included. Most had faith it would. Well, the day came and my mother took me to Sears (I got stuck with the Tele-Games version) and I brought it home and my first reaction even before starting was "what is this"? Regardless, I spent hours playing it. It is hard to believe how good Jr. Pac-Man was on the 2600 when seeing this version.

How do you burn the roms to the CD with Disk Juggler?

I have a few questions about PCAE for Windows. First, when using cart scans, how can you make the whole picture show? It cuts off the bottom 1/3 of it in the game list. The box scans show just fine. Also, what format (Word, gig, jpg) should the instruction manuals be? And, has anyone had any luck getting the Sidewinder controller to work? Thanks, Brian
