even the 2600 was better than that @ darklord 1977 are you saying that the 2600 sucks? no, not at all...it was good for its time, but when the other systems came onto the scene like the colecovision and the 5200... and even the Intellivision ..the 2600 kind of lost its spark..even at that time the system was showing its age. but i will give it props..the 2600 lasted a long time..longer than expected i bet

The same way you can bash it apparently. Jeeze, 59.99 is expensive as it is. Thats why I have only four Xbox 360 games. If they do go over, I'm going to be pissed. I remember when PSX came out at only 29.99 or 39.99, too bad its not like that now. well you can thank the corporate sony greed for the ps3 and their messed up prices and promotions..at least microsoft is doing it right..

well, first off I got my 360 last year on launch night..i love it..its a awesome system... im looking forward to the ps3 but all the news about it is a real turn off meaning the UBER high price for the system etc (sure the preview games we have see are great but thats about it but its just a tease nothing more also add to the fact that sony is really pushing blu ray and thats jacking the price for the ps3 way up) ) .. and the fact that sony does not care about the gamers at all..its pretty obvious that sony is just being greedy plain and simple more and more i thing the 360 will be the best.

I prefer my DS my psp is collecting dust. if you get the DS you get more! better games, unique control via the touch screens...its more compact...and quite frankly the DS has more games..fun, challenging games..all the psp games are basically just rejected games for the ps2 that didnt make the cut.. i say get a DS oh, also the DS has a better price point.. its a better value!

yeah, the odyssey was awful..i got one one year as a gift..and i exchanged it even the 2600 was better than that

It's overpriced for what it is too. MS' current policy seems to consist of gouging consumers on the peripherals to make up for losses on the system. true, but sony does this also remember..they all do its business as usual like it or not.

super metrold for the snes.. I remember playing this at a get together a few years ago, and i could never find it anyplace.. that game was by far one of the best snes games....but i finally got mine on ebay mint in box for 15.99

when i first got my CV i did not like the controller..but i got used to it..i had 2 games that i loved zaxxon and donkey kong... i just had mine hooked up last night..ahh the memories.. i still think the CV donkey kong is one of the best ports of the game..

i was in 5-6th grade when it happened...i was still playing my 2600 and 5200..i scored a colecovision for my birthday that year..had a ton a good games.. but i eventually lost interest.. i remember the transformers craze was huge then i went into collecting them instead of video games.. some of my friends kept theit games mothballed so did i (still have all of them..transformers as well:) i remember the games and systems being reduced and games were buy one get one free etc.. i didnt really get back into video games until the sega master system, and 7800 came onto the scene..then the nes..and finally the genesis..and its been fun ever since and ,i dont care what anybody says ..the 80s were awesome!

i agree..if sony releases it at 500-600 it will fail...but we all know that they will do this anyway, because sony wants to suck as much money out of the consumer as possible. and the scary thing is that people will pay out of the ass for it no questions asked as for the whole blu-ray thing..sony has been tight lipped about it (of course the discs will be fragile and overpriced we all know this ,its sony after all ) which makes you wonder is it really all its all cracked up to be.? . did you hear that sony is delaying their first regular blu ray player until october...because of quality issues bla bla.. personally, i think sony is going to turn away a lot of loyal customers because of all this ps3 /blu ray bullshit the playstation series is excellent..but it looks like the ps3 might be the system that "jumps the shark" or kills the series..if it flops ..thats a big if...mabey sony should get out of the console business god knows they have lots of other products to sell to the masses .. i know the sony purists are going to say im wrong everybody has their opinion so , im voicing mine ... i bet if sony was selling the empty ps3 boxes online a lot of people would buy them just because its sony.. im not ragging on the ps3 im looking forward to getting mine ...but you just have to wonder is it really worth it? mabey sony should have waited until 2007 to release it this way all the bugs in the system could have been worked out.. i mean, lets be honest..is having the blu ray in the ps3 really that important? i think not sure its a nice addition, but not neccessary whatever happened to just playing the games..thats what video games are all about ..i think sony lost touch with that idea and its a shame becuause the ps1 and the ps2 were the best ..now, it looks like they want to cram everything into a system thats uber priced..just to say well we have this and that included. and wi fi as well!! big deal can it get me a cappuccino at 3 am?? .. heres a idea sony, for all the cash we will be shelling out for the ps3..how about a game included or at least a demo...but we know thats not gonna happen.. Microsoft, is doing it right with the 360(including the add on hd dvd drive which im looking forward to ) and will get even better sales figures as a alternative to the ps3 .. at my store , we still sell out of the 360 both fully loaded and even the core system (even the ps2 and first xbox still sells very well) .....sony should stop trying to be the big dog of the next gen systems, and pay attention to what really matters..the games. you dont really hear anything about the games hardly..this also makes you think... what is really going on with sony? the store where i work..we were told that we will not be pre ordering the ps3 for customers..because they cannot guarantee if they will get enough if any (remember the ps2 launch?).. we had a meeting about this..and sony was saying that each store might only get 4 or 5 units....the reason why? is because of the blu ray drive inside each system...once again you just have to ask yourself...is it really worth it?
