  1. Dang Chris, that's too bad... I'm over on sage too so I'll see you around still (although it has been awhile since I popped in over there)
  2. I doubt that... We already have a million ways to "play" these old atari games very cheaply. Not many, if any, people are tracking down an original Quadrun for $300+ because they want to play it... Its because they collect vintage atari games. I'm not saying people won't collect these re releases of old games officially made by atari. They could be quite popular if the right games are made. I am saying there is no way they will change the price of an original. Reproductions has shown us that. The only way it might have an impact is if they made them identical to originals, but I imagine a lot of people would have a problem with that... Anyways, was kind of off topic but I just figured the new overlords could benefit from hearing it.
  3. I've had several friends contact me about this merger/acquisition which is kinda funny since none of them are members here or even Atari collectors for that matter. I guess this is a pretty big deal and it shows me Atariage is a larger part of my personal identity than I thought 😄 I really want (need?) this to work so don't let me down guys!!! So yeah, I like Trog/davpa so far so I guess I'm all in. I'll even pick up a 2600+ and enjoy the ride. Even if everything goes horribly wrong I'll ride the burning carcass to the ocean floor and...well, Ive made my point. Congrats everyone and good luck, we're counting on you! 2600+ advice * Make unique games, for instance I have zero interest in buying Outlaw again but enhanced berzerk, run/jump are winners 🏆
  4. @TrogdarRobusto Nice to meet you.. I was curious...Will you continue to be an active member of the forums and make a genuine attempt to be part of our community?
  5. Interesting...I knew some kind of partnership or alliance was possible since the only arcade conversions that stayed in the store were Atari branded. I didn't think/guess it was a full on acquisition though. Seems kind of obvious now I guess 😄
  6. Got a few new additions. First up is a PC engine with a multi card... The little plug in AV booster makes all the difference since japan RF is impossible to work with 😄 I never realized how tiny these things are, first time I've owned one. Its adorable haha I also got a super game boy and a sweeeeeet multi cartridge for it Great way to play a lot of gameboy games ive never played. So many of them suck but there's some good ones too! I rearranged the consoles ao all 9 are hooked up simultaneously to my broadcasting TV. This will free up my 1702 for a few vintage computers :😃 Atari 2600 Atari 7800 NES SNES (super gameboy) Super Famicom PS2 N64 Sega Genesis (and master system) PC engine I'm thinking a C64 and a Vic 20 for the 1702 monitor area and a few RF consoles on the other side of the room (Coleco, INTV) I'd like to work a Neo Geo AES in somewhere.. To make sure I was enjoying the room too I played "New Adventure Island" for the PC engine... What a cool game, definitely my favorite of the series so far (although I haven't played "super" much yet) well, thats it for now
  7. They skip Atari for the same reasons new baseball card collectors skip Bowman... - No nostalgia (too old) - any new stuff from the is in name only - the commons are stuff you've never heard of and the rare cool stuff is insanely expensive
  8. I remember finding one way back when it was not even really known/confirmed it came with one, my phone apparently can't copy a link but the topic is here on AA somewhere. Wow "I'm new to digital cameras" haha, what a nerd I am...
  9. Thoughts and prayers for the panasonic monitor... Although she has only been part of the family for a short time we have grown quite attached to this little silver box. Unfortunately upon rescuing her she had health problems...brightness issues, color issues, inability to stop rolling/focus. Well today she just shut off completely and attempts to resuscitate have not worked. Was hoping its just an on/off switch issue but I'm afraid her time in the gameroom may be coming to an end... let us remember the little Panasonic 10" color with TWO AV INPUTS! Such a rare little find and her time here in the basement was too short...
  10. Woke up early and looks like we're not hitting the fair for a few more hours so me and my daughter hit the MN Toy posse swap meet. Found a few cool things for the room... Also picked up a SNES...now, I already have a Super famicom but the guy was practically giving it away. He also completely disassembled/cleaned it, etc.. Sounds like he was the original owner too, couldn't turn it down I spent some time playing Altered beast for the sega genesis... I never beat this game back in the day, despite me playing the hell out of it for like a month straight (I got a genesis at launch and didn't have a lot of games in the beginning lol) The final stages and their weird enemies always did me in, seriously wtf is this? BUT....Thanks to the modern day internet, I discovered you can CONTINUE if you hold down A button and press start!! I finally beat the game!!! (Spoiler ending pics) I felt a little guilty...it was so much easier being able to continue. I'm still going to try to win without continuing some day... Feeling nostalgic I also gave one of the other first Genesis games I owned back in the day another try...MYSTIC DEFENDER! Such a cool unappreciated game. Has some annoying jumps that feel cheap at times but otherwise a blast to play. Made it to level 5 but ran out of continues...this one I'm beating without any tricks (although I did beat it already back in the day) Well, thats it for now...
  11. Not a chance in hell, is what I would have said...but since YOU recommended it I just might 😃
  12. And here's another vid showing it all together... 20230826_104844.mp4
  13. Oh, almost forgot. This is the "karaoke station" This is mostly for my wife but I have been known to belt out a little Hall and Oates on occasion 😄
