I never thought it would take as long as it did for me. I ended up watching another perfect run video on YT and I actually made notes about how much time the player had at key points just so I would have a reference because I was having trouble getting to the end before the 20:00 minutes ran out. You definitely have to push the envelope when crossing the pits that open and close. If you play it totally conservative and safe you will never get the perfect 114K score.

I played on Stella and I was using a PS4 gamepad and I agree. I think Pitfall handles better with a gamepad than with the old CX40.

According to AA rarity scale Turmoil is a pretty common game but when I think back to years ago when games were much cheaper it never seemed to pop up as often as other titles that rate the same on rarity.

When I can get to the end before the time runs out it's always so darn close to 0:00.

I'm trying to get a perfect score on Pitfall for the 2600 for the first time ever. My first time to actually collect all 32 treasures I finished with only 3 seconds to go. I can't imagine how hard this would have been to figure out back in 1982-83.

What was their overall opinion of Yars Rising?

Thanks for sharing Cluckster. It does look darn nice in your pictures and the improved paddle control is a really great improvement. That was something that really needed to be addressed and was one of the reasons I never bought a 2600+. I think I'm going to go ahead and buy this. It just looks to nice to pass up on.

I'm not saying that his review was the most thorough. By his own admission he started playing games after the Atari brand was pretty much an afterthought. I'm saying I appreciate the fact that he INCLUDED mentioning that the games on this new system have a thirty second load time. That's certainly not that huge of a deal but I still think the experts should mention this. This isn't something that any of the old Atari consoles ever did. The Colecovision did that but not the 2600, 5200 or 7800. If the 7800 did this originally then everybody can bust my chops because I've never had that system before.
