I got back into Atari in '98 when I discovered Ebay. I'm only finding about 1 item a month these days that I feel like buying, so I'm starting to feel close to done. The cabinet took me a little over a year (on and off). It was my second woodworking project (after a toy box), so it turned our better than I expected.

I finally finished up my game room and took some pictures, which I was about to post before seeing Rick's monster collection that he just put up. Well, here it is anyway. It's probably not the same magnitude, but it's a little different layout. http://home.houston.rr.com/bm/atari/ataricab.html One thing we have in common is our use of musicmate cubes. They're the best for easy access to your games. It took me 2 years to collect enough, but it sure beat trying to craft slots out of wood!

I received these a couple years ago along as part of a package of "Atari Service" replacement parts. All of the parts are for the 2600, so I assume the chips are also. I have a service manual, but the codes on these chips are not listed. So I was wondering if one of you tech guys could tell me what these are (if they are indeed for the 2600) in layman's terms. Thanks. IC GTIA - CO14805 (2") IC POKEY - CO12294 (2") IC ANTIC - CO12296 (2") IC 74LS10 - CO14339 (3/4") IC 74LS244 - CO14313 (3/4")

I'm honored that you dug that up. I actually finished it off with some doors recently. I have a MAME cabinet arriving Monday, which will complete my game room. Then I'll take some pics and post them. By the way, my cabinet cost me around $400 in lumber alone, so it's not the economy route.

I've tried sending NWCGE my score for about a week, but their mailbox seems to be full. Bummer.

I got just over 5000 last night. Actually, when I hit 4500, I had 17 lives remaining, but I got so excited about finally acheiving what I hadn't come close to before, that I lost them all in about 2 minutes.
-
Yeah, he just said that it recently sold with the Music Machine game, not that it was made for Atari. I think it's worth having in your collection, though perhaps at a lower price.

One more down. My hand hurts, and I've definitely put some wear on my joystick. It took me a week to find a working strategy, but I don't play games very much these days. I want to thank all associated with the patch idea. It got me motivated to play a game for an hour straight, something I haven't done in a long time. Plus, I've been so busy collecting over the past couple years, that I hadn't sat down to REALLY play some of the games I was buying. And this one is a blast! By the way, what is the third (blue) freighter? I get the other three, but this one looks like a phone booth to me.

I guess I didn't express it explicitly in the forum, but my comments were implicitly contigent on there actually being a winner. The rules of the contest stated that the prize would be given to the winner, not distributed randomly as you wanted. If this was indeed a scam, it was a pretty bad one, since it cost me close to $100 and I got nothing in return but a bunch of holier-than-thou comments. Oh povlok, how I will miss you. Thank you for taking time to write an intellectually stimulating retort free of obsenities as always. Actually, my problems are only with a few people here. There are more people who have sent me positive comments (most from Ebay bidders) than the few of you waddling here in negativity. I'm sure they choose not to post so that they don't become a target themselves. A couple still in my inbox: "Yeah, I saw you and povlok reminiscing about old times I find that most people in the community suck, but the newbies are really cool." and "But, even moreso, I’m sorry for the behavior of certain AA members who blew you unnecessary amounts of shit over this whole thing." Remember, this would have all been avoided if you had simply sent me a follow up email that your feedback hadn't been corrected instead of being a jerk. This discussion is getting redundant and is turning into a time sink for me, so I'm going to sign off. You can talk about me behind my back if you want, but if you want a response please PM me. This experience has actually been very educational (I mean that in a positive self-improvement kind of way), so I'm glad to have participated. HH, I responded to the note from Ebay. Provided they approve the removal, it should be complete soon. Later!

I do care, even if I disagree, or I wouldn't be posting here. As I said previously, the situation was entirely my fault and a bad business decision to boot. If I wasn't already upset at all of the others who backed out, I'm sure I would have been more level-headed. Emotion and business don't mix.

Chill. I'm not ignoring you. I just saw 5 people I need to respond to and I didn't have time. I do have a life outside Atari (thank God!) Sorry this will be a long post, but with the Atari Avengers coming at me from every angle, I wanted to try to address all of the issues. If you're not up on this soap opera, you should skip this thread. First off, an apology... Gosh, even what I don't say is coming back to haunt me. You're right, and I take back my comment. Although I wouldn't put that on par with publicly telling people that someone's untrustworthy, I can see how you might have felt dissed. I apologize to all 20 people who sent me offers on that game who I didn't write back. It wasn't for sale. If you take the time to read above, you'll see that was not necessary. I expect HH's to be removed next week. Povlok has been way to nasty toward me to deserve anything in return. The third person is apparently a figure of Povlok's imagination. As to your second sentence, I doubt it -I'm sure these guys will just nit-pick on something else. I'd have to disagree somewhat. Although YOU were very concerned about the situation, I doubt your buyers were. If you have over 100 feedback, I'll bet 95% don't even know you have a negative (I rarely click on that feedback number myself). Of the remaining, most make a quick check and see that all are irrelevant (if that's indeed the case). Whoever is left is going to be very anal, and you probably don't want to deal with them anyway. Trust me. This has been addressed ad nauseum in the contest forum. I ran a contest. There was no winner. I had no provision for distributing the games in that event. So the decision was up to me. If people had been at all supportive of my contest, my decision might have been different. The only people I owe an explanation to are the contestants - all of them were OK with the outcome, except for one who called me a jackass, and I don't feel the need to appease someone like that. Since you've accused me of running a "scam", I deserve to hear how I profited and/or how anyone was injured. Otherwise your comments are simply slanderous. Also, if you feel it should have been handled differently, then please show me the way by giving away $500 in games yourself. You don't have one of those funhouse mirrors do you? You expected me to solve your problem between the moment it happened and when you called me frantic during dinner 1 hour later? Maybe you thought I should have already reacted to your profane email that I hadn't yet read? I feel sorry for the people who will end up doing business with you. It's 4 now, is it? This just gets better and better. You previously called me a liar when I said that I had 3 tooth protectors and demanded proof. I obliged. Don't you think I deserve the same? All I need is a name. If this is so important to you, don't you think that person deserves to have his feedback corrected? First, I'm not calling you a liar, but the last time you accused me of something was in saying (in the imfamous "locked thread") that I never aplogized for the feedback. When I showed you TWO emails where I had, I got neither a retraction or an apology, just more nagging. Now the story I promised you. 1 year ago, I had a picture of my whole "stash" listed in my auctions. Several people emailed wanting to buy the stuff I wasn't selling, so I posted a message here that they would take offers and each would go to the highest "bidder". 15 people made offers, and ~10 people won games. After a lot of time spent tracking people down, only 2 people actually followed through. One person told me for a month that the check was in the mail, then said he didn't have money. Then one of the remaining 2 (you) said that you expected yours to be in better condition and asked for money back. More frustration. I had offered you additional games, but I had another standing offer for them from someone I'd done much business with, and given the whole experience, I decided I'd rather deal with the other person. I wasn't holding them for you. I'm sure some of you will disagree with this, but I think a deal between a buyer and seller, especially on Ebay, is like a contract and as such is final. The contract terms are spelled out in the listing. If the seller provides something that is different from what is listed, then he needs to make reparations. But if the buyer assumes things that are not in the contract, he needs to sort them out BEFORE signing. I make my stand on this very clear in my listings, and I always deliver EXACTLY what I say I will, or I give full refunds and sometimes more. And even in other cases, I usually give in. Sometimes my stuff is mint, sometimes it's not. I generally don't make that distinction because it's subjective and it will be challenged. I let pictures do the talking, and ask that if you're really picky about the condition of what you're buying, JUST ASK and I'll give you the info/additional pictures you want. But don't shake on a deal then try to renegotiate afterwards. Not sure if this answered your question, HH. There's no hard feelings on my end. Whew...Again, sorry for the length. I've only got a couple more weeks of selling to do, so all of this should die soon.

All right! What is it now? 5 on 1? I always love a fair fight. Though I do wish you guys would come up with some new material. I don't have time to respond to everyone's kind comments tonight, but I will ask Povlok again for that mystery 3rd feedback. It's about time to put up or shut up. It took writing Ebay 4 times to get a response about HH, which I did gladly because he had been professional with me. Then out of nowhere, a little unprovoked mud in the eye from someone who claims he doesn't like to sling it.... Some of you need to take a long look in the mirror before you claim the moral high-ground. Sorry, Trade-N-Games that you stumbled into this ongoing drama.
-
This is most disappointing of all. I thought we had worked things out. I never put games on hold for you, and never misled you on the Bumper Bash. And I had just received a response about you from Ebay today.
-
Not sure what you're talking about there. The only time I remember PMing you was to ask if you were going to Austin. But I guess you can insinuate anything. Given your previous public comments about me, I don't think people are reading you words as sarcastic.
-
I don't disrespect you like this.
-
Some of you guys need to chill out! When someone doesn't take the time to note every single defect, it may just mean that they just aren't anal about their games. I would never assume the condition of something I can't see in a picture and would ask. I even state in my listings that you should do this. I always answer every question honestly and send additional pictures when necessary. I'm a little disappointed that this got posted (and all the usual suspects had to judge immediately) before I even had a chance to resolve it myself. You've got to be kidding! I think you've said a dozen times that you're done talking about this. By the way, I'm still waiting to hear who this CONFIRMED 3rd person is. It's odd that he/she has privately contacted both you and CPUWIZ, but has yet to contact me.

I was actually curious about these prototypes: http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?View...&sort=3&rows=50 Did Activision and Imagic use Atari's lab loaner cases?

Ahhhhh.....I've been waiting over a month to hear those words. I added some extra items to your package. -

Dude, you're about as professional as they come. I should have made that clearer to you. I think I know why you came to that conclusion - It was my fault and I'll PM you the story when I have time. Had I known there was a problem between us, I would have fought harder in our Star Wars battle! -

I couldn't agree more (on both points). Back when it happened, I apologized to both and wrote ebay with a request to remove the errors. I never heard back from either, so I never gave it another thought. I had no idea they were harboring ill will for the past year over this, until Povlok came on here calling me lots of names. I've been trying to get a response from Ebay in reference to HH's feedback for a few weeks now (it's become a principle kind of thing for me to get a response from them). I want to exhaust all options before shelling out $20+ to squaretrade, but I will if I have to. I've studied the feedback I've left pretty thoroughly, and I can't find anyone else that I could have done this to. I haven't left that many negatives. But if that was the case I really need to know so I can work on that one also. -

Huh. Sorry to hear that. I've always respected your opinion. Have you heard from someone else besides Povlok and HH? It sounds like maybe you have. Povlok said there was another, but nobody's given me a name, and I never heard from anyone else. I figured he had made that up. -

eep! I guess I'll never live that one down. I hope you're being facetious...ya know, we have done business before... Just getting rid of my dupes. My goal is to go cold turkey on Atari within 2 months. It's probably tougher than kicking a crack addiction. -
I'm not posting this to complain. Just a heads-up for those of you with similar items. I currently have listed one of the Taiwanese 64-in-1 games: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=3070485372 Today I received the following message from yuppicide@optonline.net: Stop selling illegal video games on eBay. You've been reported.

Labelling error...an Atari cart with a wrong label???
bloatedmonkey replied to perryrhodan's topic in Atari 2600
I have an Enduro that plays Ghostbusters. Lable looks untampered. Freaky stuff, man.... -
It's been an unusual December. Rare stuff is going lower than 2 months ago (not the norm from my experience), and common stuff (incl. systems) have varied wildly. My "system + 8 games" packages have sold one day for $100 and the next for $40. The last few years it was much more consistent. Not sure how to interpret these tea leaves.
