Ok, I know I drank alot of beer in college, so I'm down to only a few brain cells, but over the years I've acquired 4 joystick splitter things, from 3 different manufacturers. But I can't get ANY of them to do anything. If I plug a joystick into either of the split sides and plug the other end into my Atari, I get no response from the joystick. I figured the first 2 were busted, but I have a hard time believing all 4 could not work. I mean, it's just a cable. I think I'm just dumb. Please let me know if you have a better experience.

2600 10s: who owns gauntlet, magicard, video life, atlantis2
bloatedmonkey replied to CincYnoTi's topic in Rarity Guide
Oops, I didn't realize there's different threads here. Put me down for 2x Atlantis II (holding on to #2 for a special occasion). I've heard from one person that there were around 20, and from another around 10. I'd like to know myself. -
2600-10s: who owns NTSC Motorodeo, Obelix, Quadrun, or BMX
bloatedmonkey replied to CincYnoTi's topic in Rarity Guide
I have loose Obelix and a loose Quadrun. Also have Music Machine x2 , Malagai, Atlantis2 x2, maybe others, but I'm not hip on what all's a "10". -
2600 10s: who owns music machine, mangia, VIDCO copy cart
bloatedmonkey replied to CincYnoTi's topic in Rarity Guide
I dun got 2 loose music machines and the record. -
I woke up yesterday to place a bid myself, but obviously couldn't. I wrote the seller out of frustration. He said that he got a good offer for it, but was curious what I was willing to pay. Pretty weak, in my opinion.

Oops! I meant to day "It's not a big deal for $15". Sorry about that. But I'm always impressed at how noble you guys are.[/u]

I've never seen a best prototype with a clear case like this. I remember seeing this one (or one that looked like it) sold about 3 years ago on ebay. I think it was around $300.

:sad:I bought a Mr.Roboto from the Goat Store soon after the NWCGE. I got it soon after, but I got busy doing other stuff and didn't get around to playing it for 3 months. After trying last night, it looks quite dead. So am I SOL? Should I contact the Goat boy, Junies (who made the cartridge), or Paul? It's a big deal for $15, just curious if there's any comments.

That's pretty cool parents to leave that in their yard. I can't do it myself...freakin' deed restrictions. Can you believe they won't even let me put a car on blocks in my front yard? I'm starting to wonder if I really live in the south.

I don't know what y'all are complaining about. If the shipping prices are clearly stated, then you know exactly what you will be paying if you win. If the total is more than you want to pay, then don't bid. But don't assume that you can talk him into changing his policy just because yours would be different. Now if shipping isn't a set price, that's another story. Lesson: don't assume, and if you're not sure, ask.

I haven't seen how to get a copy of this post-CGE. Anyone know?

I actually have 2 at the moment (my other one is mint, but I have yet to find the box or letter). I believe that brings us up to 6. I heard that there were 20 released to the contest players, but they may have made more.

I was thinking of how you could do something unique with your "idea website" concept. As it is I'm having trouble seeing it succeeding. Atari promotion is handled pretty well right here, so it would be tough to compete with AtariAge on that front. You could manufacture games, but then you're competing with Hozer and Junies. So I thought, what if you specialize in games made by kids? Do you know any nerds at school who can program games? You could market them as "made by teenage geniuses". Some people would buy them because they were made by kids, even if they weren't so great. You could then go to the conferences to sell them. Some clever packaging would help. I think there would be alot of interest and support for something like that. Just an idea....

Well, I guess I'm out! I have around 800 in my collection with another 2000 in the garage. But quantity's nowhere as important as quality (I've heard of someone with 20 different labels of Combat). The game I'm most proud of in my stash is a lab loaner Dumbo.

What would you trade for an Atlantis II
bloatedmonkey replied to bloatedmonkey's topic in Atari 2600
Thanks, Pac-Man-looking dude. I wasn't aware of one selling - I'm surprised I missed it. I've heard there were only a couple dozen of these out there, but I wasn't sure if people were willing to give them the corresponding value. Perhaps I'll hold on to it a little longer. -
What would you trade for an Atlantis II
bloatedmonkey replied to bloatedmonkey's topic in Atari 2600
I got it in a large lot on Ebay about 3 years ago. I was lucky enough to find a second one the same way a year ago (I doubt one would be missed these days). I think the complaint you're referring to was in regards to people making low-ball offers causing auctions to end early. Anyway, I got an offer for a Condor Attack. Seems looks like a reasonable deal, no? -
Thank's, Leonard. I'll print this out to put around mine as soon as I find a box that holds an Imagic game. I only have the game.

What would you trade for an Atlantis II
bloatedmonkey replied to bloatedmonkey's topic in Atari 2600
Am I missing something? If you're suggesting I'm making a joke, look at the screenshot - the score counts in single digits. The original owner of this one wrote a "II" on it to distinguish it from his other. -
So maybe this should go in the Marketplace forum, but I'm asking the question more as a hypothetical. I've never seen a genuine one of these auctioned off, so I was wondering what the interest level is out there. Do you consider it worth a Pac-Man, a Dolphin, a Death Trap, a Waterworld, a Quadrun, or something else? Here's some pictures of the one I have: .

Whoa, I wasn't aware more than just the cart existed. What do the other items (box, letter) look like?

I don't think that's part of their business model. As I understand it, they're an idea factory. They don't make the games, they just think them up. Reminds me of this commercial on the radio right now. Consultant: "We've solved your productivity problem....All you have to do is do the same amount of work you do right now, just do it in less time! Your productivity is bound to go up!" Client: "Are we paying you for this?" So stop telling them they need to learn programming. They've shown no interest in that. It's not part of their road to riches. Personally, I'm glad to see these guys are back. They make me laugh.

Atari 2600 cart price guide online? Please respond.
bloatedmonkey replied to Scot from S.C.'s topic in Atari 2600
The guy at AtariGuide.com supposidly has some way of automatically calculating current prices based on auctions. At least, that's how I understand it. -
Ok, let's assume you're not poor. Fair enough, but I don't get the logic. My understanding is that you're upset that non-collectors are selling items on ebay at high prices, and you don't want to buy from "someone who doesn't have any idea how much that machine is treasured by many players". Yet you're perfectly willing to buy one as a result of someone giving it to charity after they figured it was worthless. It sounds to me that some poor schmuck gives away a valuable item, only to have you pick it up at a deep discount to market value. So you're basically taking advantage of someone indirectly - not what I'd call the moral high-ground. At least with Ebay, the grandma who finds a Quadrun in her closet will get what it's actually worth, instead of selling it to you for a dollar. Truth be told, I'm glad you're not an Ebay champion. That's less comptetition for me. Yeah, you're right.....Ebay sucks!
-
That made me chuckle:D A plug for the kids out there....stay in school, study hard, and make good grades so you can get a good job. Then you can make lots of money, buy anything you want, and laugh at the slackers who can only complain about high prices because they're too busy paying off their credit cards. When Ebay started, I had 20 games: 10 from my youth and 10 I'd found in thrift stores. Now I have around 800 and I love playing each one. Ebay freakin' rules!

Well, it made me chuckle.
