  1. The standard cases came first, as evidenced by the fact that the black label Vidtec games used them. The beveled cases were the same ones used by Amiga for Mogul Maniac and Off Your Rocker. This is no coincidence, as both Amiga and U.S. Games were located in Santa Clara, CA. Obviously, there was a connection there that resulted in both using the same suppliers. The Color Bar Generator by VideoSoft and Eli's Ladder by Simage also used that style of case.
  2. I guess you guys didn't see this one. I'm sure glad that I did. 😉 There's currently a beveled case Gopher listed here if anyone is looking for that one. Not in the greatest shape but it's a tough one to get ahold of.
  3. What Shawn just posted above is probably your only option. Or honestly...just play the Game Gear version. I'm not sure exactly what the goal is here given that Woody Pop was a Japanese exclusive, and neither the original Sega Card nor the associated OEM paddle will work on a Western SMS unit without a BIOS swap. Or do you own a Japanese unit?
  4. I don't know about portraying the war accurately and it's not exactly recent at this point, but I remember the Vietcong series being pretty good at the time. https://www.mobygames.com/game-group/vietcong-series
  5. Will Wright had nothing to do with Fortune Builder. He claims to have come up with the idea for SimCity while using a level editor during the development of Raid on Bungeling Bay.
  6. Being that the Harmony Encore is available, is there any reason people want this apart from the fact that it's old and no longer in production? I know why Andrew Davie wants one, but for anyone else, is there some specific appeal I'm not aware of?
  7. Yeah, I know. I've had a Harmony Cartridge for quite a while too...I'm just long overdue in checking those games out.
  8. Are the lines all sharp or does the printing look like it came from art that was scanned? How about the quality of the paper as compared to your other original? If you own both original and repro boxes for reference, you would be a better judge than me or anyone else here as to whether it's real or not.
  9. A very well known (re)seller. Looks like they might be cleaning house and dumping everything.
  10. Probably not worth the trouble but thanks for the explanation. Did anyone make a multislot expander like the HesCard 20 that was released for the VIC-20?
  11. Raiders of the Lost Ark, Secret Quest, Riddle of the Sphinx, Quest for Quintana Roo, and of course the Swordquest games come to mind. DragonStomper and Survival Island are a couple you may want to check out also, although I've never played them as I do not own a Supercharger.
  12. Yeah, I know about the hacked ROMs. I was wondering if the rumor of some factory cartridges being compatible had any substance to it.
  13. Over the years, I've heard people make the claim that there are copies of GORF (and Demon Attack) that will work on an XL/XE machine, but can I assume based on the conversation here that it's just a rumor? Does anyone actually own an original cartridge of either title that works?
  14. This guy was reporting a problem with certain Parker Brothers cartridges not working, but I've only ever heard of a problem with Astro Chase in the past. Frogger II should work fine.
  15. I would like a modern 7800 clone with 2600 backward compatibility. Although I'd want it to be a full system with a cartridge slot from someone like Analogue as opposed to a mini console from "Atari", who would only screw it up. Adapters to play Atari 8-bit & 5200 carts (just like the Mega SG uses to play SG-1000, Master System, and GG games) would certainly a plus.
  16. I guess people will reproduce anything nowadays, but the OP's box has some age to it. More pics would certainly help.
  17. Looks original to me. It's hard to imagine someone going through the trouble of reproducing an entire box for a console.
  18. Absolutely. I listened to the whole interview while doing some work on something else. What a brilliant, interesting, and down-to-earth guy.
  19. The 3-D Zapper demo that never really went anywhere is another likely candidate.
  20. Bakery is definitely Piece O' Cake. Some have associated RealSports Driving with Pole Position but I'm not too sure about that connection. High Seas was the working title for Sea Battle, which of course has been found and was released on cartridge by AA. The Ultravision system was a cool concept but undoubtedly way too ambitious. I'd still love to see a prototype unit of that one turn up.
  21. Crazy how a mostly unknown game has suddenly attracted so much attention after all these years. Not a bad thing though, especially since the attention resulted in the programmer finally releasing a number of artifacts related to the game's development that he's had in his possession. https://www.atariprotos.com/2600/software/entombed/entombed.htm
  22. Coco Nuts for Atari 2600. Lightly chewed. https://www.ebay.com/itm/115109928911
  23. If you don't like the guy's prices, or what he's selling, or you just don't like the guy period for whatever reason...then steer clear. For someone who's been at AA not even six months, you hardly have enough time here to be calling anyone out for being a "bullshitter" or anything else. And if you haven't dealt with him directly, calling him a scammer is over the top.
  24. These just don't pop up very often, especially with the box. Your best bet is to put it up for auction and let it ride.
