A friend of mine runs a facebook group and has a policy of no political discussions, (much like here). Well, there's a Karen who insisted on pushing politics and is now conducting a harassment and bullying campaign against him because he stood by his policy of no political discussions. She's messaging all his contacts, spreading libel, and even contacting his employer trying to get him fired (accusing him of being a racist, and supporting a rapist (I don't even know where she comes up with that garbage)). Keep in mind, he hasn't said or done anything of the sort -- he's just refused to allow political discussions in his group, and for that, she wants to take away his ability to pay rent or buy food. Oh, and he has a disability and works for a janitorial company that prides itself on hiring ppl with disabilities. How disgusting she's behaving and doesn't even recognize it. It made me think of AtariAge and I have to imagine if someone was persisting in demanding to be allowed to post on divisive issues, Al would probably give a warning and then ban. It made me really appreciate Al's rules for this community. I don't know where most of you fall politically, and I don't want to know. We're here because of our love for Atari and retro systems. It used to be that ppl avoided talking about politics because of the divisive nature and they valued friendship over thought conformity. Sadly, there are many today who think it's their job to hunt out any issue of disagreement and destroy anyone lacking 100% alignment with their own views. That's some serious intolerance and self-righteousness, but they can't even see it in themselves. The fact is, we have much more in common than different and we do much better to focus on commonalities rather than hunting for differences. My wife is always afraid to respond to so-called friends on facebook who post provocative garbage, for fear they'll unfriend her. I say if they're looking to unfriend so easily, they aren't friends in the first place. They certainly have no hesitation to throw their views out there, so she shouldn't be afraid to express hers either. Or maybe we should keep more of our opinions to ourselves. But whatever. Welcome to the planet earth, where billions of people share space and not everyone is the same.

My wife kept a screenshot from when this woman contacted her as part of the mass messaging of his contacts, after which the woman blocked my wife apparently in an effort to prevent her from reporting it. The woman later sent a screenshot to another contact of my friend where she supposedly got a reply from his employer saying that he was fired. I'm skeptical of it being real, but I guess he'll find out tomorrow when he goes to work. The response was the generic "Thank you for bringing this to our attention... We support all inclusiveness and diversity... and he no longer works here". I can only imagine what lies she was "reporting". If his employer really does fire him, I will get involved, as his employer has a contract with my employer and there is nothing she can do to affect my employment. It's all so stupid.

Last night, my wife and I had to make the most difficult decision of our marriage, if not our entire lives. We put my pup, Daisy, to sleep.
I carried her in my arms from the place in which I adopted her ~10 and 1/2 years ago at 9 weeks old.
She was in my arms as she was put to sleep. We loved her so...she will always be missed.

https://twitter.com/ACR_Collection/status/875147975126896645 Apparently Keith Robinson of Intellivision Productions just passed away. I still remember playing his wacky Genesis game Normy's Beach Babe-a-Rama. His company's Q*Bert sequel for Super NES was also really good.

NO thank you, iTunes, I most certainly do not want to BUY the (questionable, I know) movie Battleship for $19.99, but I wouldn't mind RENTING it. Too bad that's not an option!
