  1. Bah... After I print, apply, and upload images, I realize some mistakes. - I should have used the microSD logo instead of the SDHC logo. - I should have added BENNVENN.COM I did say it was a quickie. That's what happens I suppose. Here are those couple of corrections. I'm sure there are a multitude of improvements that could be made, but I'll call it done.
  2. Yes, unmodified NTT controller in the SNES port.
  3. I've been itching to do a label for the BennVenn cart, and finally got around to throwing together a quickie. The idea was to use the tie-dye pattern at the top so it matches the rest of the shell, and put something Lynx-like where a label normally goes. I didn't plan on using the circuitboard on the label, but once I scanned it in for sizing, I liked it better than the plain orange or purple. Here's what it looks like applied to my BennVenn cart: There's approximately a millimeter or so of excess on the sides to give room for trimming. I actually applied this label to the cart before trimming off the edges, letting the hobby knife ride in the groove between the PCB and shell. It gave a nice fit. All images uploaded in 600dpi. If forum software resizes them, I'll zip them up or something.
  4. I use the SNES NTT Data controller. I'll try with a Colecovision controller when I get a chance.
  5. Absolutely. I just barely missed 2nd place on the high score list after posting that. The spider is really nasty. He's what takes me out nearly every time. It's not so easy to just let him pass and keep doing my thing in this version. I'll have to get better at dealing with him. Yes, I really like the control scheme in this one. It's nice to access the map with the B button instead of Option1. I also like the ability to run. I don't remember being able to do that in the full game, and I sometimes get chased down by angry cybers on my way to extraction. The only control I miss here is the strafe. If there's a way to strafe, I haven't found it.
  6. I have both Regular and Gold for FB9. I should be able to test, but that depends on how some things go. I'll know more about my life/schedule for the next year soon.
  7. What am I missing? I've looked all over for firmware and can't seem to find it. I feel like it's staring me in the face.
  8. Got my copy of Centipede and I'm very pleased with the game and packaging. It's been kicking my bum, but it plays good enough to make me want to keep trying. Also, really enjoyed Cyber Virus Lost Missions. I played through all the levels in the first sitting. Found it much easier than the normal release, which I've still not successfully completed (even with cheat codes!). Random note: it would be nice to have another Songbird compilation on the Evercade once a few more releases are out. My poor Evercade has had little play time of anything but Lynx games since they were released (I love the Lynx on Evercade).
  9. What are the benefits of each? A good thing about the this forum's software is that we can click the "Attachments" button at the top of the thread to see all attachments instead of digging through the pages... although there are already 174 of them and counting. So, this firmware will be the very latest and greatest, so I no longer have to worry about dumping mine before flashing? Very much looking forward to it. At the risk of asking too much... would one of you be willing to port NEXUS update into the Flashback 9 firmware as well?
  10. Yes. With that gorgeous new boxart. edit: so this is weird. After taking out the LotD cart, I decided to play Dead Tomb. I powered off the Phoenix (of course), removed LotD, inserted Dead Tomb, powered back on, and got a garbled screen of some LotD text. That cart is not reacting well to the Phoenix (or vice-versa). I had to unplug the power and hdmi cable (indicator light was showing red until hdmi cable was removed), then power on again to play the next game (Dead Tomb).
  11. Yes. I was reading the manual that came with it, but yes, I tried 1, 2, 3, and 4... and all the others for good measure.
  12. Just checking to see if there is any update to this. I recently got the LotD cartridge re-release and it doesn't go past the title screen on my Phoenix. It wasn't even prompting for game version until I updated the core to the latest on the github. Now it asks to select game version, but that's as far as it gets. No graphical glitches though. Wondering where I'm going wrong.
  13. For my hacks that you have in the pack, I'd prefer they be distributed with the labels/boxart I did for them. I haven't made labels/boxart for all of them, but I have for a fair amount. There are several variants for most, like Adventure Enhanced, Double Dragon, Xenophobe, and some others. I think you could re-size most of them for boxart and they'd look decent, but if not, let me know and I'll see about modifying them if I can find my original templates.
  14. Sometimes when you copy a file over, it doesn't show up where you expect it to. Since the cart recognizes files based on timestamps, you expect it to show up at the end of the list, but it may appear somewhere in the middle. This is the case with my current SD card. I copied over several recent homebew WIPs and they all appeared in different places in the list rather than at the end where I expected them.
  15. Today, I finally got to visit the neighborhood I've been wanting to see for decades. Not much left. I hope I'm wrong, but from what I can tell of the Atari buildings listed in this thread, only one seems to remain and it's fenced off for demolition as well. Here's the site of 1265 Borregas Ave, all gone: And here's the remaining building at 1196 Borregas Ave: The building to the north of 1196 (not photographed) looked like a different and newer construction, so I don't know if it was part of Atari or not. South of the 1265 lot, google parking etc: The area by Caribbean Drive is gravel mounds (1385 and 1395).
  16. I gotta say, I absolutely LOVE your parallax options. The various effects are so cool! Thank you for this.
  17. Here's a quick, simple, tire hack of Enduro to animate the front tires. I always loved the Enduro car. Anyone remember those "Stomper" motorized toy cars and trucks from the '80s? The rear Enduro tires reminded me of the Stomper tires which might be part of why I liked them so much. However, I wondered if the front of the Enduro car was supposed to be tires or a spoiler. I always assumed they were tires, but here they are tires for sure. I'm sure someone has done this hack before, but I don't know... so here it is. Enduro (tire hack).bin
  18. If anyone finds out what chips need to be purchased/installed, I'm totally up for doing it to mine. That would definitely make it more worth using, imo. I wonder if AtGames would be willing to give us that info. Would probably be difficult to get hold of the right person who could find out unless you had the right contacts. To me, the X is nice from a "mini" appearance accurate standpoint, but as for functionality, I prefer the 9 Gold. Those wireless controllers are great. I prefer the front controller ports and even the looks of the 9 as well, except for those round system buttons. Eventually, I want to 3D print some black ones, maybe with a smaller silver circle inlaid.
  19. Exactly that. Although it took explanation for me, but then I thought it was a pretty cool name. Perhaps the explanation could go toward the beginning of the manual and/or noted on the back of the box. Also, to keep ppl from doing what I did at first and just reading it as "Y" "N" "X" "A", perhaps any mentions of the name on web pages could re-enforce correct perception by only capitalizing the first letter (Ynxa), as you did on the title of the thread. I don't mean to overstep with these comments, so if you've indulged my input/opinions this far, then thank you.
  20. I absolutely love that parallax effect. It's such a cool effect. Makes it look like you're driving on a futuristic ridge.
  21. Very nice flames. I would only suggest to have the movement of the flame going the opposite of the direction the player is facing, so the flames have that movement from front-to-rear of player rather than rear-to-front (so that when player moves forward, it's like the breeze is pushing the flame back). Like this:
  22. Those 2 ROMs are the same, just different box arts. The game was originally on the Flashback 2. I'm not sure who made the hack of Adventure to come up with this sequel, but I remember hearing Curt Vendel was involved (obviously in designing the FB2 anyway, but not sure if he did the hack).
