  1. So I did a crossword puzzle. The clue was "At sixes and sevens." The answer was "all over the map." What does that mean? I know what all over the map means, but not in context to the clue.

      I first heard this expression in the lyrics of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical - Evita.  "Don't Cry for me Argentina"

       

      "Dressed to the nines . . . at sixes and sevens with you"

      Pretty common saying over here. Never heard "all over the map" but we'd probably say that someone's "all over the place."
