  1. Anyone interested in step-by-step instructions for making your own 2600-style boxes with full-color-print? I talking about real physical boxes, not only images. I own a printing-company and can make those boxes with instruction booklets and inlay (minimum quantity 50, pm me if you're publishing your own game), but I can also provide a step-by-step instruction for making your own (if you need just one or a few). It will look like this: It'll be quite a bit of work to put the instructions together, but if there's enough people interested, I'll do it. Post what you think. Thanks.

  3. Have a multicard for the Magnavox Odyssey from @Boojakascha and @Mikebloke and got a handle for it from Laserbear. Took measurements and with the new handle, it's about 11cm x 9cm, and about 1.5 cm thick. I'm looking for a hard case or possibly a shock box to store it, ideally with a little bit of extra space, so I can line the case with antistatic plastic to protect the PCB Does anyone have any ideas on what the most similar cartridge would be in terms of size? (NES, SNES, Megadrive...?) Or if repurposing one of those wouldn't work, does anyone make custom cases that would fit it? Thanks!
  4. Here are 4 2600 controller that I built and have up for sale at the moment. The black and white one and also the red/black/white one are 70$ shipped in the cont. USA. They are ready to rock with 10’ cables, plexiglass covers, siemitsu ps14g pushbuttons, and (black one) has Sanwa joystick, red has a zippyy stick. The white and black one and the green one are 60$ shipped USA. They have 6’cables. Also taking orders for custom builds right now as well if any of y’all happen to be interested in a custom stick. I’m not set up to build for 5200, Jaguar, or intellivision, but those several consoles aside, I can build out for most any retro consoles. Thanks for taking the time to check them out. 5. Hi I'm trying to make a type of FlashCart for Atari 2600 using an Arduino Mega 2560 and an EEPROM memory from ATmel (AT28c256, 64 Kb). Initially, my project uses the PC for flash memory. I upload a custom Sketch containing the bytes of the game Keystone Kapers. The burning process worked perfectly. My goal is to burn the ROM using Android Device via Bluetooth. I am decompiling several ROMs and making different Hex files. I will place these Hex files in a folder and select the file of my choice to burn in memory. When the burning process ends, a buzzer plays the PacMan's intro music.☺️ ☺️ My question is about mapping the memory chip with the cartridge board. I have a cartridge from a Brazilian company called Dactar. This cartridge comes with 4 games in 1. To select the games, it is necessary to change the position of the lever switches. There’s a IC 74LS04 to control the switches positions. But, guys, I don't want to use this Brazilian cartridge, because I think it's very complicated. And there is another problem even more complicated ... ...I know that this Atmel memory at some points, has different memory pins like the W27C512 and others. Has anyone here burned Atari 2600 games using this same type of memory that I use? does anyone have a print file of the circuit board specifically developed for this type of memory? in case of yes, could anyone share this resource with me? Thanks in advance.
  6. I was a bit bored in lockdown and for a while I've been wanting to do something for my loose 2600 carts. I decided to try some custom mini boxes just big enough for the carts. I wanted to include the key info you're missing without the manual. The front is the original box artwork. One side has 1 or 2 Player icons. The other side has basic controls and the rear has difficulty switches, game modes, tips etc. Just wanted to throw them out there and see what people think

  8. As my first 2600 game is entering the testing phase, I'm hoping to have a number of cartridges made. I know that there's the option to have a custom cartridge made just like that and, while very tempting, I would like a number of cartridges made and it is sadly outside of my price range. So I was hoping to do so myself, as much as possible. Is there any explanation of what all is involved? From what I have heard, one would want plenty of existing games with little value which can be stripped down so their cartridges and boards may be used. It's all about needing a new EPROM, which are cheap to buy but must be burned with a pricey EPROM burner. So, my questions: 1. Is there any resource to explain how to make a custom cartridge oneself? If so, where? 2. How much can be salvaged from existing games? 3. What kind of EPROMs are required and where can they be purchased? 4. Is there anyone who already has an EPROM burner who would be willing to burn EPROMs for me on a pay-per-EPROM basis (with me paying for the EPROM, any shipping, as well as for the good individual's trouble)? Bulk orders in mind, here. 5. Is there anything else I should know about all this so I don't waste a lot of time and money on a wild goose chase? I'd very much appreciate any information folks can offer. Thanks!
  9. The creator of the MiniVex analog controller is back with more. MiniVex I Hand Made Metal Cased Analog Vectrex Controllers coming soon to eBay. Here are some teaser images from the creator. This time the controller buttons will be in various colors including Black, Gray, and Red. Possibly some others in the future too. Keep your eyes peeled and searches saved. #MiniVex #Custom #Vectrex #Analog #Controller #ClassicGamesAndCarsFan https://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?&_ssn=classicgamesandcarsfan&_nkw=MiniVex Update with description text from the listing: "Brand-new controller for the classic Vectrex system, featuring a tough steel case, analog joystick, and a rapid fire feature for button #4. Flip a switch on the back of the unit and hold down button #4 for rapid automatic fire! Use the rotary pot to adjust the firing rate to your liking. Unit is about 3/4 the size of the factory controller, see photo #5. Buttons are available in three colors as shown. NOTE: I have a very limited supply of each, so I cannot mix colors...they must be ALL red, black or gray. Plugs right into the Vectrex, no adapter needed. These units are hand-made by me, so they're not, and never will be, cosmetically perfect. Guaranteed for 30 days from the day you receive it...if it fails within that time, I will repair it at no charge. Will ship anywhere EBay's Global Shipping goes. Paypal only, and thanks for looking!"
  10. I made a custom sound font for this game in the 1990s (available below). This shows off a little bit of the sounds: This game was originally for Macintosh OS8 OS9. Very fun Asteroids with bonus pick-ups and digitized sound. It was released as muti-platform PC using SDL. The game can be downloaded here: https://www.libsdl.org/projects/Maelstrom/ My custom sound font is attached. You back-up the existing Maelstrom_Sounds. Unzip my attached file, and replace the original with my sound. Maelstrom_Sounds.zip I usually remap the controls to the keypad as 4=left 6=right 5-fire "where your thumb rests"=thrust and then "to the left of where your thumb rests OR spacebar"= shields Then you can play with one hand. Or remap the controls to a controller pad. Comments appreciated. I spent a lot of time finding samples that match what is going on in the game. Some of the default sounds were just too good to change, so I left those alone.

Not mine. This is Dan Kramer's legendary custom 3-Fire Button Trak-Ball Controller built in Atari Inc's Consumer Engineering Division. This was used for playing the in-house "3-Base Missile Command" game for Atari 8-bit computers. Dan and others built several custom Trak-Balls there that weren't meant for the public. This one was unveiled at the 2015 Davis Atari Party.

  14. Hello, I'm new to the forum. I recently completed this project. Built it from scratch. I've converted gutted arcade cabinets in the past, but I never did anything like this before. I think it turned out well. Please take a look and let me know what you think. Thanks!
  15. From the album: Custom Arcade

This was our first arcade. It has the 60-in-1 on the left, a 108-in-1 in the back, and a modded XBOX with all the fixins with an X-Arcade compatible monstrosity. It was too big to move out of that room and was later disassembled and scraps and electronics were used to build the "Big Play" cabinet.
