  1. https://erstwhile-technologies-7800.square.site/product/harmony-encore/11?cp=true&sa=false&sbp=false&q=false&category_id=2 I just wanna make sure this is the right place to get one, I would like to order one through PayPal but the PayPal option on https://harmony.atariage.com/Site/Order.html doesnt work just brings me to a page saying "This order page is outdated. Please go to the new page, or wait a moment and you will be redirected there shortly" Sorry if im being dumb but I just wanna make sure that's the right place to order one thanks.
  2. Can anyone tell why this only works in Stella (in developer and player modes) and not on a real Harmony Encore cart with RGB card or in Javatari? tanks_2022_dpc_0.2.bas.bin tanks_2022_dpc_0.2.bas
  3. I have a problem accessing the menu to choose the games (roms) saved on my SDCARD. The pages are automatically descending and none of the joysticks are activated (even disconnecting them from the Atari 2600S the problem persists). Other cartridges work normally. I'm using the latest firmware version. Problem.mp4 Roms.zip
  4. I have started programming using Batari. I decided I need to get a Harmony cartridge so that I can test my games on a real VCS. Whilst hunting on ebay, I saw the following:- http://www.ebay.co.u...sd=262985404875 The menu looks the same (minus the Harmony logo). I cannot find any information about these anywhere. Plus the tech specs seems to be the same too:- Specifics: 2600 Ninja Drive MicroSD/SDHC version NXP 70MHz ARM7TDMI-S microcontroller 8KB SRAM, 32KB Flash, and 512KB EEPROM 7MHz SPI bus controller Micro USB FTD232 serial interface Supports FAT32/16/12 with Windows Long Filenames (LFN) Bankswitching types supported: 2K, 4K, F8, F8SC, F6, F6SC, F4, F4SC, FA, FE, 3E, 3F, E0, E7, CV, UA, Supercharger, DPC, 0840, Custom Specs from the Harmony instruction manual page 9 - (http://harmony.atariage.com/files/harmony_manual_v2_online.pdf) Harmony Cartridge Technical Specifications Processor: NXP 70MHz ARM7TDMI-S microcontroller Memory: 8KB SRAM, 32KB Flash, and 512KB EEPROM SD Card Interface: 7MHz SPI bus controller USB: FTD232 serial interface Filesystems supported: FAT32/16/12 with Windows Long Filenames (LFN) Bankswitching types supported: 2K, 4K, F8, F8SC, F6, F6SC, F4, F4SC, FA, FE, 3E, 3F, E0, E7, CV, UA, Supercharger, DPC, 0840, Custom The specs are the same, even the order that they are listed. At the guys at Atariage okay with this? Or is this a legit Harmony competitor worth considering? Or should I just stick with the Harmony cart?
  5. Hi all! Last month I saw the following ad on eBay: I thought the appeal of this kit for homebrew development was very limited: No bankswitching/mapper (only 2K games or 4K games with further modifications on the board) It required messing around with UV lamps, programmers, etc Required some knowledge of electronics Buying the parts separately would probably be less expensive Not possible to ship as a product to customers It would be probably easier and faster to use one of the existing USB/SD carts to test on a real hardware. This did make me think though that I had never seen a development kit for the 2600 which would allow homebrewers without knowledge of electronics to self publish their games. If a mapper is required, then that knowledge need goes up real fast. As in Europe we have very limited offers of good homebrew games available (most of them are from the USA and shipping quickly becomes a problem), I thought about making this my next project. The idea is to have blank carts (populated with all required components but without any game image in them) and a simple to use cable and PC software which would allow the user to create a cart ready to be shipped to customers as well as test games in a real atari. Is this something that would interest the homebrew community? Here are some requirements I have come up with: The final product must cost under 10€ (populated cart PCB) All components must be easy to find. Preference should be given to components still in production Must be usable by people with no experience in electronics No soldering Must support mappers (the ones used by batari Basic at a minimum, as a lot of people seem to use bB) No physical alterations to select the desired mapper (or no mapper) Must fit in a standard Atari cartridge case Components should be SMD to keep production cost as low as possible All comments will be appreciated!! Cheers.
  6. Hi all, I have created the following post yesterday: Someone just told me that I should have created it in this subforum. I don't want to duplicate the post but I have also not found how to move the post here. Any suggestions? Also, if you can comment on the bankswitch schemes you currently use in your programs and any experience you can share on how to implement a bankswitch controller on a 8bit Microchip PIC will be much appreciated. Cheers!
  7. As my first 2600 game is entering the testing phase, I'm hoping to have a number of cartridges made. I know that there's the option to have a custom cartridge made just like that and, while very tempting, I would like a number of cartridges made and it is sadly outside of my price range. So I was hoping to do so myself, as much as possible. Is there any explanation of what all is involved? From what I have heard, one would want plenty of existing games with little value which can be stripped down so their cartridges and boards may be used. It's all about needing a new EPROM, which are cheap to buy but must be burned with a pricey EPROM burner. So, my questions: 1. Is there any resource to explain how to make a custom cartridge oneself? If so, where? 2. How much can be salvaged from existing games? 3. What kind of EPROMs are required and where can they be purchased? 4. Is there anyone who already has an EPROM burner who would be willing to burn EPROMs for me on a pay-per-EPROM basis (with me paying for the EPROM, any shipping, as well as for the good individual's trouble)? Bulk orders in mind, here. 5. Is there anything else I should know about all this so I don't waste a lot of time and money on a wild goose chase? I'd very much appreciate any information folks can offer. Thanks!
  8. I'm thinking of getting a Toshiba FlashAir W-04 32 GB SDHC Class 10 Memory Card. I tried looking for a 8gig one but it was 3 times more expensive and an older version as well. Will this one work with the harmony/harmony encore?
  9. First of all I´d like to congratulate Harmony team regarding its excellent job with its Harmony cartridges. I´ve just ordered a Harmony Encore for myself and for some reason I´m not being able to contact batari or anyone in the Harmony team about my shipment tracking number. Unfortunately here in my country (Brazil) the postal services are not reliable and I need to have some way to track it down so I can keep track of where it is. So I´m asking you guys to help me find someone who can help me on this issue since I can´t reach batari on PM nor anyone on the emails provided on Harmony website. Thanks in advance!
  10. Here is another item of mine SOLD here, my AtariAge 2600 Harmony Encore SD card multicart. SOLD PM me if interested, SOLD.
  11. I have a Harmony cart for sale. It's in very good condition having been used carefully for just six months. I'm including a 2GB MicroSD card with firmware and games (PAL). This Harmony cart is ready to run on your PAL 2600 or 7800. I'm based in the United Kingdom. To buy the Harmony cart (without SD card), it originally cost me £79 including shipping to UK and customs charges. I'm asking £50 for the cart; that includes UK postage, the SD card, and a paper manual. See http://harmony.atariage.com/Site/Harmony.html for more details on the Harmony cart.
  12. Hello All. Finally got myself a Harmony Cartridge {Probably 10 years after everybody else it seems}. AND, it seems I'm living {or am going to live} the nightmare I've feared with these {multi}carts in the past {fortunately, I've had no major problems with any of the other multicarts/flashcarts I've obtained up til now}. First, I've only got an AV modded 7800 {2 actually} to test it on. When I first received it, I was able to briefly {1-2 seconds at most} on occasion get what appeared to be a garbled menu screen on one of my consoles. Other than that, it has been as if no cartridge is inserted in the console {i.e. single or multiple solid lines or blank screen, etc.}. I've since compounded the problems, and believe I have now deleted some of the main files/directories {i.e. program files that had the loader etc..-My SD card only has the following folders now: Drivers; Homebrew; Manual}. So, my 1st question is, can anybody guide me on how to rebuilding the directories that I've deleted? But, from there: Am I perhaps just out of luck with this thing? I've definitely cleaned the contacts as well as they can be cleaned. Is there any chance the problem is with the Cart itself? I've been attempting to contact the seller {I think Batari}, but have not been able to do so before extending the problems with this. If it's potentially the consoles causing the problems, then I do not wish to start fumbling with them-so that might be a dead-end for me because I do not want to buy a spare 2600 if I don't know pretty much 100% that the problem isn't with the hardware/cart? This concern is particularly real because I think I did the re-install of the Firmware properly before deleting everything tonight {only thing I struggled with was: What's the root directory? I chose E: for that choice}.? But, would that briefly appearing garbled menu indicate the hardware/cart itself is fine? or might it indicate the problem could be with the hardware/cart itself? {A note here: After attempting to reinstall the firmware, I no longer was able to get that garbled menu anymore}. Lots of questions. So, sorry this inquiry is all over the place. {I went back and put bolds where the main inquiries are for this topic}. I hate to think I've got an unusable "BRICK" on my hands, which, of course, was by no means cheap, but I also don't want to piss anyone off if I were to pursue recourse in that regards {Some day I'd like to be ahead of the curve with all of the great products out here to be had - such as, perhaps, a 7800 multicart?}-{Note here too-I'm currently licking my wounds after "discovering" the latest SGM for C-vision, only to realize I just missed the pre-order deadline-so I surely am a hard luck story here}. I'd hate to accept that my knowledge of the 2600 might remain limited to Seaquest, Phoenix and the several other titles I have, but am afraid the current can of worms I see open before me is not going to resolve itself anytime soon, and, if it can't be resolved soon, then I may have to bury it in my backyard or crawlspace until I forget it and stop trying to resolve it. I hope someone can make sense of the mess here that lies above, and help me on my way to resolution? {or make me an offer to get it off my hands? lol - I hope?} Thanks.
  13. From the album: RetroElectroDad Game Collection

The Harmony cartridge is great and I use it mostly, but sometimes you can't beat opening up the box with the instructions and artwork to go full-retro.

  14. Hi! I´m using Windows 10 Pro 64 bits version. My Harmony Program Tool can´t found the Harmony Cartridge I install the drivers and apparently everything worked perfectly. The virtual com port have the following setup: But the harmony Programming Tool continued not finding the harmony cartridge The only problem in Device Manager is the following: When I insert the USB cable into the Harmony cartridge I hear the Windows characteristic sound that something has been inserted into a USB port. What can I do ? best regards and thanks in advanced, Marcelo What can I do ?
  15. Hi, I recently aquired a pair of Best Electronics paddle controllers with the upgraded pots. When powering on the 2600 with the Harmony and paddles connected, the menu will scroll uncontrollably from page to page and will never stop, making it impossible to select a game. Turning the paddles or pressing the fire button seems to have no effect. The paddles do work fine in-game however, with no issues that I can detect. I have tested on 2 separate 2600 systems with the same results. I have also tried an older set of paddles (with bad jitter) that do not exhibit this issue. Any idea what the problem could be?
  16. Does anyone know if there can be any potential damage done to the Harmony Cart or the VCS by removing the Harmony Cartridge while the system is on? I *REALLY* want to play RAM Pong without the cartridge in the machine, just to see the magic in action, but I'm a little wary of damaging one or the other.
  17. I always considered VCS marvel at engineering but, at the same time, it was always to constraining for me so I settled for less perfect but much more capable Atari 800. Some recently released VCS games seemed to achieve impossible. Quickly I found that some of the games have even more help from the cartridge than what was available back in the day in the form of Display Processor Chip (as used in Pitfall II). In those games it is ARM processor, hidden in Harmony / Melody cartridge, which does the heavy lifting and original CPU (6507) tries hard but can not really keep up. This led me to the following question: Would it make sense to plug in Harmony-like expansion in place of the VCS original CPU?
  18. Ok, I finally got the cash together to buy a Harmony Encore. So my question is this, How many games used the light gun and are they good enough to justify buying the gun for? I have two CRT tvs I can use, a 13 inch portable (which I feel is too small for using the light gun) and a 32 inch floor model. If the light gun games are well liked, I'll pick up the light gun, but if members here don't think it's worth it, I'll trust the wisdom of the forum and put the money toward a Homebrew cart or some other accessories. On an unrelated note, is there a way to get "demo" roms of the homebrews available in the store, so I can try them before I buy them?
  19. Hello, I received my Harmony Cart today. I put it in my 7800 and it didn't boot up. I checked it several times, each time powering on/off, nothing. I made sure the ROM files were correct....nothing. Hooked it upto my Mac OS X computer, says it wasn't recognized. Checked the actual card inside the cartridge, looked like it was fine. I just tried reattaching the cartridge to my Mac again, nothing still. (Screenshot shows). Is there anything I can do to remedy this? Please let me know. - Danny
  20. Some days ago I have started a thread about testing CRTs. The feedback so far is quite low, I hope I can get more attention by posting here too. So if you own/use a CRT, please use you Harmony cart for this really simple and quick test. Thanks in advance!
  21. I've always been into collecting original games and never "cheating" by using emulators or contraptions that use an SD card and such. But I've learned that there's loads of homebrews and new games being made for a lot of the older systems that I play, it mainly started with the C64, but I just recently purchased the Harmony cartridge for the Atari 2600 as well, only to be able to experience these new games that I've missed out on I don't intend to use the Harmony for the original released games, these I will continue collecting But I intend to use it for the types of games that I can't find physical releases of. Since I'm a total n00b when it comes to this field I'm wondering if there's some kind souls on here that might give me som advice on where to start looking, and any particular homebrew games that I really should try to get Thanks in advance!
  22. Yesterday I ordered a Harmony cartridge. I'm going to try and introduce the old 2600 to my kids, and thought that would be the way to go vs trying to re-create all of my old collection all over again. However, downloading all the roms one by one will be a tedious procedure. Does anyone (atariage?) have a downloadable zip of all the 2600 roms offered in one place? If not, I'll do it the hard way, but I was looking to save some time and grab them all at once. Does such a beast exist, and if so, where? Danke.
  23. I just received my Harmony Encore today. I wanted the ability to PLAY more than the standard games so I went Encore. My issue is I wanted the Deluxe, but torn about the more future (better) homebrew games. Is there a one stop shop or download to grab the homebrew ROMS that come with the Harmony Deluxe?
  24. Can someone please help me with my new Harmony Encore? I just bought this device and it came flashed with the NTSC 1.06 firmware, I am from the UK so I want to put the latest PAL 1.06 firmware on it the problem is it does not seem to exist and I don’t understand where to get it from, assuming it even exists. The addendum that comes with the Encore manual states… “Also, we don’t recommend using BIOS versions older than 1.06.” So what do I do? use 1.05? or wait till PAL 1.06 comes out? I have tried emailing Fred with this question but I am not getting any reply from him so any help this community may be able to offer will be appreciated. Many thanks.
  25. Hi All, I did the composite video mod a while ago on my Atari 2600. Didn't think so much of it. All the cartridges seem to work ok. A little bit of tearing/visible lines on the very left of screen. However, it does work and play fine. Played a round of Combat and the number at the top were fine. Anyway, when I use my Harmony cartridge. I can barely read the text. However, playing the games everything seems to play as the original cartridges do. Not sure if there is a problem with the cartridge, the mod itself, etc... Anyone else experience this? BTW, I am in NTSC land. Thanks.
