I just did a blog post on set of Atari news articles I curated from the New York Times that were published between 1974 and 1985. These are really fun to read and tell a nice story of Atari history. I tried to focus on machines and video games without getting too much into all the corporate and leadership changes.

Sega confirmed today that their next big thing is Daytona 3 Championship USA. I was originally told that the title was Daytona Reloaded but looks like they changed their minds to convey a proper sequel in the series. http://arcadeheroes.com/2016/11/01/sega-resurrects-daytona-usa-with-daytona-reloaded-arcade/

Hi everyone,i have some really good stuff for all of you. After the Chameleon fiasco,i wanted to talk to Collectorvision & Piko Interactive on their Facebook pages to see if they had any interest in porting some of their games either for the Jag or Jag CD. Fortunately they do,but the 2 developers have some issues,Collectorvision doesn't have a programmer for the system yet, menwhile Piko Interactive is figuring out on how to put some of their games in cartrigdges form. But either way, this is awesome news, what do you think?

Hi friends, If you don’t need any convincing and are already interested in checking out a new podcast dedicated to retro gaming, then cool! Here are the links: Episode 1 – Lawnmowers! Episode 2 – Attack of the Canadians! Otherwise, here is my humble pitch: Collaborative retro gaming features site 1 More Castle now has our own weekly podcast, affectionately titled 1 More Podcastle. We just released our second episode last night, but I can already say that we are proud of our product and hope to gain some early adopter fans that can stick with us throughout a long haul of conversational fun. So the key question is: “Is 1 More Podcastle worth listening to every week?” While I hope the answer is “yes,” if I were completely honest, the answer is probably closer to “maybe.” So, in order to help you make your decision whether or not to give it an honest chance, here are some specific details about the podcast. Our scene is 100% retro. In episode 2, there is a brief tangent about Assassin’s Creed, but even then, it was used as a point about one of the flaws of modern gaming. Now, we believe video games are generally great and the modern scene is not an enemy – but this podcast is explicitly, totally retro-centric. You will hear about the NES, Sega Genesis, Turbografx 64, PS1, Atari 2600, etc. Our episodes are fairly short. The second episode clocks in at just over 30 minutes. If you’re the kind of person who likes a solid 90-minute ‘cast, you may need to listen to 3 of our episodes back-to-back-to-back! We are aiming for a format that would approach 45 minutes at its longest. Our tone is lighthearted and breezy. Our draw is the Retro Showdown. Our format is fairly simple: Typical intros/icebreaker, a retro gaming discussion question, a musical interlude… then the Showdown. We have three hosts, who each give a 2-minute pitch about the retro game they picked for the episode. Then we go into about 10 minutes of free-for-all discussion/debate/argument about whose game is best. This is fun for us, so we hope it’s fun for listeners too. And here’s the kicker: Listeners can vote on the episode page for their favorite game of the trio presented. We argue, you give us feedback on whose argument was most convincing, and leave a comment too if you want. I am not very iSavvy myself, but I believe we are available on iTunes as well. So if you like podcasts and you like retro gaming – really, just try us out. Let me know what you think! Thanks.

Basically, 1 More Castle is a new features-based collaborative gaming website focused on retro gaming. Check it out at 1MoreCastle.com! To learn more about what we are all about, consider: Reading the 1 More Castle Manifesto, checking out the roster of weekly contributors, or just follow the Twitter account @1MoreCastle. This is something I am very excited about, and could say a lot more of, but I just wanted to let you know that we want to be your favorite retro gaming website -- and are serious about making that ambition a reality. Starting next week, our talented team will be providing exclusive, high-quality features to the tune of two updates every day, one in the morning and one in the evening. We would love to see you there. A note specifically for AtariAge regulars: I know that I am definitely not an active member of this community and more of a lurker, but I wanted to let you know that Atari systems are definitely within our coverage. One of our team members is actually going to be doing nothing but a weekly Atari 2600 review, and I am already trying to gather guest pieces related to other Atari consoles from knowledgeable retro gamers out there. We hope to be a website that caters to your tastes as well.

Well isn't this a surprise. The readers of this blog suddenly increased, very fast. It got 3000+ views in a few days. I wonder why...Anyway, this isn't why I am writing this. Most of my faithful readers must have missed me so here I am. Well, good news, my CT63 is working perfectly, so is my ethernec and so I am online from the falcon. Bad news, after being cursed by either the jaguar "vocal" community or Candy Candy fangirls (don't ask, I won't tell ) I lost my PC and laptop PC so my only online access is the falcon and when I get a pc available (like this one). That means that I can't login here since login uses ssl and highwire doesn't support that unless I use a web proxy, but the encryption there slows things down quite a bit.. So, you'll read what it's like to have an Atari (even a highly accelerated one) as your main machine in 2009 in the next issue of lowres . Why don't I buy a new pc, or at least get some pentium 3 or something for free? Well I don't want another old piece of junk and also truth be told, can't really afford a new new pc at the moment (400-500) euros depending on what I'll keep from the old) and I am kind of enjoying it. Using my falcon like that . And I don't need anything more anyway (but youtube...is nice ).

Just came back from Outline 08 the super Atari and not only party! It was a great experience and I am so looking forward to attending next year. Havoc, earx and the rest of the s Dutch f don't even think of not holding that. I really enjoyed meeting and talking with the people there. Maybe I can visit another party this year? Here are some crappy cell phone pics.

Trilobit have released a new demo for the VCS in the oldskool demo compo in Assembly 07 that is being held in Finland. I am once again impressed by these guys. The name of the demo is TOM/JONES Pouet page The demo is best viewed on a real PAL 2600.

I stumbled upon something really nice a few days ago. OL, of MyAES fame and one of the recipients of the Coldfire evaluation boards, has managed to run MiNT on Coldfire! You can read about it on his blog about GEM, GEM development and the Coldfire Atari clone. It is of course wonderful news about the future of the platform.

Looks like that Stimpy has perfected his NetusBee adaptor, an ethernet and usb adapter for any Atari with a cartridge port. In his web site you can find a video of usb in action. If I understood correctly his adapter is/will be priced at 60 pounds or 90 euros. Also I believe that Coda is working on usb drivers for various devices. I suggest that you contact Stimpy first before you press the "add to basket" button. Now all I have to do is collect some money and all my internet connection problems will be solved at once!
