Room 34
I recently acquired an excellent-condition copy of RealSports Tennis for 2600. This appears to be an international version (instruction manual is in several languages, as is the box, I believe). I am led to believe it's NTSC (evidenced by my successful test of the game in my 7800). This is a silver label cartridge, appearing identical to others of the era. The red band on the face label where the title is printed just says "TENNIS," not "RealSports TENNIS". The copyright is 1988. There is also an asterisk under the copyright with text to the effect of "Indicates a trademark of Taito America, Inc." (Was this mistakenly copied from the silver-label Space Invaders?) Does anyone know anything about this label? It's not mentioned in the AA archives. I checked the Giant List if Atari 2600 Label Variations but I didn't see it mentioned there, either. sku_u
Atariguide lists it as having a value of $2.00. The fact that the instuction manual is in several languages and the cart is NTSC suggests that it is probably from Canada.
