Abman
My personal favorite GB games (That I of course would consider classics) would be: Super Mario Land Super Mario Land 2: The 6 Coins Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land (My favorite of the trilogy) Donkey Kong Kibry Dreamland Wario Land 2 Pokemon Red (after that the series just kept repeating it's self) Donkey Kong Land I have a feeling there is a few I'm missing though . Student Driver
Motocross Maniacs I came into this thread hoping to see someone had listed this one. I remember being underwhelmed by the graphics when it came out-- which says a lot in a day when Watara-Supervision-esque games like Daedalian Opus were coming out-- but the gameplay was spot-on, like a faster-paced, insane version of Excitebike. Video
Oh yeah, all the Pokemon games (except maybe TCG, cause I didn't understand it) Yeah, it's more kiddie, but you do have to admit, it was a decent RPG type in a world pretty void of such games. And some of the charactures are cool.
AlexKIDD
For the most i'd agree with most of the games mentioned (the ones i've played at least). To add a good one I didn't see mentioned, how about Ninja Gaiden Shadow. I just played through the game this week and I really enjoyed it. Sure it may not be a true Ninja Gaiden game, considering Tecmo bought the rights to Shadow of the Ninja and used elements from both games but I enjoyed Shadow of the Ninja as well and this was a great mix of the two games on a portable. It's also much easier than the Nes Ninja Gaiden games. This could be a good or bad thing depending on your opinion of those games.

blastermaster
most of the best ones have been mentioned, but i thought that the 007 game was very well done and a blast to play.
nintendo
I think Survival Kids can be considered a good game to have in your GB library. It's also GB Color compatible. Popeye 2 is a good title that also hasn't been mentioned.

Ze_ro
I didn't really read the rest of this thread, so sorry if there's some overlap. Here's my list, in no specific order: Metroid II Pokemon (any of them) Mortal Kombat II (this is the only one of the series that turned out good on the GB, the rest were thoroughly awful) Kirby's Dream Land Mega Man 2 Double Dragon Operation C Super Mario Land Ninja Gaiden Shadow Faceball 2000 Nemesis Samurai Shodown (turned out surprisingly good on the GB) World Heroes 2 Jet (ditto) Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (DX version preferred) Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages/Oracle of Seasons Donkey Kong Gargoyles Quest TMNT: Fall of the Foot Clan Wizards & Warriors: Fortress of Fear Ultima: Runes of Virtue 1 & 2 (though don't expect ports of the PC Utima games here) Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge Solar Striker Bugs Bunny Crazy Castles Duck Tales Raging Fighter Alleyway Quarth Mercenary Force Altered Space Space Invaders (play it through a Super Gameboy for maximum win) Game & Watch Gallery (all of 'em) Tetris Motocross Maniacs Super Mario Bros DX Mario's Picross Revenge of the Gator Penguin Wars Bubble Ghost Nail 'n Scale Trax Tetris Blast Adventure Island series Balloon Kid Burai Fighter Deluxe Harvest Moon Kid Icarus Kirby's Star Stacker Mickey's Dangerous Chase As you can see, I'm a big fan of the B&W Game Boy I'm sure I forgot about a ton of great games in there, but that should cover most bases. I intentionally left out classic arcade ports like Lock & Chase and Burgertime, though in general, most of the classic ports the GB got turned out very well, so get 'em if you liked the originals! --Zero
bretthorror
Super Mario Land, Metroid II, Tetris, Link's Awakening, Kirby's Dream Land, Game & Watch Gallery, Motocross Maniacs. I didn't play a lot of Game Boy games, but I know these were legit classics. Edited July 9, 2007 by bretthorror
