On the overhead level 2 fire has extra range compared to other weapons. Hold down the shoot button for a bigger shot with fire and use the splash to kill things easy. On level 2 boss goto the right then give it 3 charged fire shots to driver for easy kill. You can stand on top the crab mech in level 3 and shoot down through the armor with fire.
