zombiecraig
Are screen protectors really necessary for the DS touch screen? How well does it hold up without one? I have one on mine and I'm honestly not sure how to remove and replace it, if I would need to. Is there a safe way to get one of these suckers off? I didn't really want to go picking at it with a fingernail, in fear of scratching the screen. The reason that I want to remove it is becase there is a scratch, but I can't tell if it's on the screen or just on the protector. Jesus, I'm anal! Jesus, I'm anal! i personally have the gamestop brand protectors on both screens, so i think its nice... my old fat ds got microscopic scratches, so i figured with my lite id treat it nicer. i know this sounds like an obismal idea, but i had to do this to reposition mine (put it on crooked at first). i used an exacto knife, made sure i didnt touch the screen, and flicked the protector up a bit so it stopped sticking to the screen. in retrospect this was probably not the smartest thing to do, but i have pretty steady hands. liveinabin
Don't bother with screen protectors. As long as you just use the stylus you'll be fine, the touch screen has a bit of give in it anyway, it's not like the hard plastic of, say, the iPod screen. The problem with the screen protectors is you have to press on all the harder for the damn thing to register, so you're more likely to damage the screen. Lord Helmet
I have used screen protectors with my DS and DSlite since day 1. I use these: http://www.fellowes.com/Fellowes/site/prod...aspx?Id=9000206 They come 10 to a pack and can be cut to fit just about everything
Video
I'm notorious for not liking the DS, but honestly, I had no problems with scratches on any of my screens. The first system was the only one I bothered putting one on, and I got a damn bubble in it I never could get out with any ammount of repositioning The others I never bothered with, and never had problems with. Don't know about the Lite though, I assume their the same, but it might have a different composition.
Emehr
I dog-eared a tiny portion of the lower-left corner of the screen protector so I can easily remove it in the future. Didn't want to resort to fingernails or X-acto blades and risk damaging the screen if I had to take it off later. I'm pretty careful with doing stuff like that but it would be my luck that I'd end up scratching the screen.
neotokeo2001
I use my DS outside or at work and the screen protectors are a must. I have never had a problem with removing them and the screen underneath is perfect. Just don't leave it on for more then 6 months. After that I have no idea.
