Flashback 2 jumper / switch help

I have been trying to mod my FB2 for a few days now and am stuck on the jumper / switch settings. One of the posts I read utilizes a DPDT switch as follows (thanks to whomever posted it originally):

 

Orig C4 --o o-- (no connection)

Black from IC2 --o o-- J3 side A

Opp. end of C4 --o o-- J3 side B

 

Here are my questions:

1. My version of the FB2 board doesn't have a black wire from IC2 and the pins for IC2 are not accessible. Am I out of luck because of the rev of the FB2 MB, or is there some other approach?

2. I understand that there's no polarity for J3, but is C4 polarized? If so, how can I determine what is what?
