Paul Slocum
Did anyone ever figure out what those blob/square boards really are? I have several of them from opening carts for homebrews. From my experience, they aren't as rare as indicated. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=1362561385 -Paul

Must have been a fake or the seller struck a dishonest deal with a collector offline.

Adrian M
Ah, I see it now. I wonder if that's a legit prototype. Was it common practice to mount chips to IC boards in this manner in 1982? The 5200 prototypes are usually EEPROMS attached in the traditional manner, so seeing this is kind of strange...
Tempest
I don't feel like running through this again right now, so I'll be brief. Those epoxy blobs are NOT prototypes, they're a cheap chip manufacturing method that companies used later in the 2600's life. I have an exact description of the whole thing somewhere around here, I'll dig it out and type it in later tonight. Tempest
