+Philsan
How to know if a sealed box contains a PAL or NTSC cartridge? I think that grey Atari XL boxes with various languages on the back are PAL. And are the grey Atari XL boxes only in english surely NTSC? What about blue Atari XE boxes? Perhaps the ones with a lightly more dark blue than the other are PAL? Thanks Edited June 5, 2007 by Philsan
mimo
As far as I know there is no PAL or NTSC carts for the 8 bit, just carts!
Rybags
+1 Every 8-bit game on cart (from Atari at least) will work fine on both systems. Although, 99.5% of games will run slower on PAL due to the refresh difference. Typically the main problems with compatibility are with more modern homebrew games/demos which require lots of CPU time, and have trouble on NTSC due to the 312 vs 626 scanline difference. +Philsan
I already know that every Atari cartridge will work on PAL and NTSC systems. What I want to know is if Atari made two versions (NTSC and PAL) of its games. According to Mimo "there is no PAL or NTSC carts for the 8 bit, just carts!" Someone can confirm this?
