ApolloBoy
I've had my Odyssey 2 for almost a year now and I haven't really enjoyed it that much. If anything, I'd say it's probably one of my most disappointing purchases. Now, if I were to sell it along with the 6 games I have for it (KC Munchkin, Pick Axe Pete, UFO, Cosmic Conflict, Football, SSC), how much would I get for it? Lord Thag
What! You don't like KC Munchkin and Pick Axe Pete? I love those games. And you haven't lived until you've had a Smithereens! tournament with the voice hooked up. If i were you, I'd get a couple of other fun games (KC's Crazy Chase, Smithereens, Attack of the Timelord, Killer Bees, Turtles or some of the great homebrews like KTAA or Mr Roboto from Packrat) before you give it up. You're missing out if you don't. Try them in emulation and you'll see what I mean. Good stuff! Just my two cents
Lemmi
i am a collector of videogame systems and i have alot of different systems but the 5200 put a bad taste in my mouth and i sold them, which i dont regret at all unless you collect just to collect then keep it if you collect stuff that you enjoy playing, and your not enjoying the O2 then sell it and get something you like my O2 system hasnt been played since 1995, but i keep it around because i enjoy some games on it, unlike the 5200 plus i have an atari 800xl with 5 multicarts
+swlovinist
The O2 is simplistic on graphics, but offers alot of unique game play. I second the homebrew games, but I would just buy the multicart and call it good. I have my multicart set to smithereens at all times just in case
2600Lives
You don't like Pick Axe Pete? That's one of the best games on the system! It depends on what kind of collector you are. I'd never sell a system, BUT, if you don't mind doing it, then I'd find someone who'd get some enjoyment out of it and sell it to them. BassGuitari
You don't like UFO? I don't think I've ever heard anyone say (or, more accurately, imply) that before. If you don't like it, then you might as well hock it. However, you wouldn't get much for it; it probably wouldn't be worth the hassle (assuming you'd ebay it or something). Also, deciding you don't like the system after playing only six games is selling it short, no pun intended. At the very least, get a multicart, which I believe also have some of the homebrews and foreign Parker Brothers titles. Frogger is surprisingly good, even with two different screens. And if you STILL don't like it, the Multicart would at least increase the value of your Odyssey lot.
n8littlefield
Don't bother selling it - just give it away for the cost of shipping to someone...I think you know where I'm going with this Did I mention I love Pick Axe Pete?

christianscott27
I'd say keep it, only because they're so damned hard to unload. By this late date everybody who wanted one has one and unless you've got something quite rare nobody will make it worth your while to sell it. Its sorta like the TI-994A, yeah its obscure but not so much that people are hard up to find one.

jboypacman
I picked one up at the MGC with its box(no foam)and about 14 loose games for about $40.Which to me was a decent deal as i have been looking to pick one up for a little while now. I would keep it myself and just tuck it away because you never know when you are going to want to play it again but if you do get rid of it i would like a crack at your copy of Pick-Ax Pete. That game is fun to play and i need a copy of it. BONK
Ive had mine for about a year also, Id sell it Havn't seen anything great for it yet.
n8littlefield
I think the O2 is a system that you really need to have the rose-colored glasses of nostalgia on to appreciate. I know that there are many games that I play today (emulated, still hunting for a cheap O2 in the wild myself) that I wouldn't enjoy at all if I hadn't played them to death back when I originally owned the system. Sometimes it's all about the memories!
opeygon
Keep it. You've already had it for a year so it's not like you're missing the money

homerwannabee
I would say keep it. I sold this sucker during christmas time and it came with I think 23 boxed games. I think it sold for $20 plus $25 shipping and handling. You really only have 3 options IMO with your game selection. A)Keep it(Who knows maybe 10 years from now a new group of Oddysey lovers will climb aboard., B)Give it to Salvation Army C) Throw that puppy in the trashcan(No one will miss it) Edited June 21, 2007 by homerwannabee

Rev. Rob
I can't believe that anyone would throw away a game or console, even a non-working one. I have sold my non-working ones for parts. Why not keep it? Odyssey 2 is not all that valuable, and it does have a handful of descent titles. So, I say just pack it away and take it out when the next great homebrew is released. ntavio
Keep it or give it away. They are very difficult to sell.

moycon
Q : Should I sell my Odyssey 2? A : Yes if you're looking to make a quick $2.00.
RickHarrisMaine
I'd say you keep it. You have to look at it a certain way to appreciate what it really has going for it. It has good joysticks that you can play with and not hurt your hands, it has bright colors, though not the most detailed graphics really. And some good gameplay, plus a lot of neat foreign stuff that never made it here. And if nothing else, it certainly is a bit of a conversation piece. I don't remember this system at all. I didn't know anyone who had one. I only knew about the 2600, the INTV, and the CV, and the TI-99 as well, plus the Adam, but never knew a thing about the O2. I enjoy mine quite a bit, actually... fsuinnc
I don't like UFO (wow that felt good). Keep it. The homebrews are fun. I know I'm in the minority but I think O2 football and baseball are both a lot of fun. If you don't have another classic enthusiast to play against you need a child 8 - 10 years old or an adult that had an O2 as a child. This makes the O2 a lot more fun. Demon attack is good too. Bivotar
I have been asking myself this very question recently. I am emptying some storage and ran across my O2 and I have decided I need to get rid of it. I never had one back in the day and just don't have the nostalgia or desire to keep it. It is boxed (no styrofoam) with several games, some in boxes. I really hate to throw it in the trash, but will do so if I can't find a home for it. First person that wants it and PM's me, can have it just for actual shipping cost. Let me know!
