If the enemie gets hit by a rolling snowball you get a lot of point, depending on how monsters you hit with the rolling snow ball. If you hit monsters with the rolling snow balls you also will get potions or items for points. Me: I haven't played the NES version, but I own the coin-op and if it's the same - the way to get the biggest points is to kill all the enemies in a level with a single snowball.
