Not so popular arcade games

Epos' The Glob, Stern's Tazz-Mania, and Rockola's Eyes were three of the most quarter-starved arcade games I could remember from my childhood and teen years. I only saw Tazz-Mania once... it's a poor man's Robotron, but still fun if you're the kind of guy who likes to try the store brand knock-offs from time to time. The Glob and Eyes turned up more often, particularly Eyes which I'm sure I've seen at least twice. I guess it was popular in Michigan, but the fact that people outside the state rarely discuss this weird Pac-Man derivative suggests that it didn't do so well outside the mitten.

The Glob (aka Beastie Feastie) wasn't a success ANYWHERE... the graphics are heinous, lacking the polish of Namco's output or the hard edge of games by Williams, and the play mechanics never really clicked. As an animated booger, you stick to the ceiling to get the drop on a wide variety of non-descript animal enemies. I remember finding the game at a bowling alley, set to free play and level select. I played it for ten minutes, then told the guy fixing the machines that there was something wrong with it. He tore the cabinet apart in front of my very eyes, and I didn't have the heart to object... the game just sucked that much.
