milton bradley
I have been reading through the posts about good 5200 emulators. I have not found one that meets my needs so I am posting a request for your opinions, here's my situation. I have a cabinet that runs in pure dos and uses a Hotrod SE panel for controls. I have the following systems working great: MAME .60, nes, snes, sms, genesis, 2600, 7800, coleco, gameboy, and gameboy color. These all run through the Arcadeos frontend. I need to find a good dos 5200 emulator that will work with this frontend and the basic controls. Any suggestions? I really want 5200 to be a part of this cab. calamari
My favorite 5200 emulator is Atari800 for MS-DOS. It's an older version (the newer versions seem like a completely different emulator, and don't even seem to work properly). I have no idea where to get it online, though, sorry.. I've looked all over. Anyways, it has good colors and seems pretty solid. Some things are still wrong, but if you want the best experience then get the real thing . calamari
oesii
You can find the DOS version of the Atari800 (also a 5200 emulator) at: http://www.zophar.net/a5200.html Its seems like it was updated about 2 years ago, there is also a copy of the Virtual Super System emulator that is only like 9 months old. So that give you 2 emulators to try with that frontend, I'm sure if the frontend has been recently updated that it may work with the Win32 versions of some of these emulators. good luck, O p.s. I use Atari800WinPlus for my 5200 emulation, regularly updated and good performance on my Athlon XP 1700.
