RSS Bot Posted September 4, 2007 Share Posted September 4, 2007 Accomplished step 1. Optimize the Room Loader as it is now. Probably saved 30-50 bytes with the simplistic/obvious fixes I used. I'll probably ponder better ways later that include redesigning the room data's format. One that'll let me do all down-counters. Since the rooms currently used in the rom are test rooms only, I'm guessing it's safe to put it off until I have all the things I know I'll want implemented added to the format that relate to the room. Remaining steps: 1. Write up the room-based object I want to add for this test. This includes it's graphics, it's AI, and it's collision routines. (I have the graphics done, and the routines written in pseudo-form. Just need to write the actual code.) 2. Decide on how to add the object to the room format. 3. Modify the current Test Realm slightly to add the room objects so they'll trigger properly when you enter the room. Not sure how much I'll get done tonight as I seem to be absent minded and wandering over to play the consoles.
