kisrael
We need a meet sometime!
christianscott27
I recently acquired a Wii Now all I need is a proper television. Lets hear from the people, who is up for a meet? My game collecting has fallen way off since the twins were born but I'm always up for gaming, light trading and beer drinking. Seems like so many people come and go from the scene round here, chime in if you're up for a meet!
bust3dstr8
Sounds good. I just catered my buddies wedding and have a plethora of Rum, Vodka, Zambuka...etc left over, up for grabs. Sorry the whiskey and beer is all gone
kisrael
I think in part I got jealous hearing about some other regional group working in part on that "I am 8bit" pseudoport of MegaMan -- in batariBasic w/ some ASM but still... TheDentist
I'm up for a meet.
toddst
I don't have much for trade (as usual), but a meet sounds good to me.
christianscott27
Well I did get a big TV, granted its a giant CRT from a thrift but it will be much better for gaming contests. Lets kick around the idea of having some sort of Wii Tourney, trading and beer drinking encouraged but not mandatory. Just a casual get together focused around playing games... Kirk, throw some contest ideas out.
TheDentist
I agree. I don't have much to trade, but I'd love to get together and game.
kisrael
haven't had time to peruse the Wii collection and think of a competition. Though what if we tried to leverage the virtual console there? Some kind of multiplatform tourney? I'd be willing to buy some games. i was going to say we should watch The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters but i guess it hasn't been DVD released yet... christianscott27
Interesting concept, I remember a couple of times we tried that with half a dozen consoles... Ah those were the salad days. Oh how I wish we could have a beer drinking video game tourney Naturally I nominate Joust if its available, or Warlords. I've got a "classic" controller for the wii. bcprs1
I'm in. I have a bunch of stuff for trade, but honestly I don't even care if we trade. I hardly have time since I got married for games. It would be nice just to get together and break out the Atari.
Lauren Tyler
Well all that matters is that I'm able to give two weeks' notice to my boss.
AtariRx
Haven't been to a meet in years, but I'm living in CT again so I'd be up for rejoining the local scene. I'd even be willing to have people over to my house... Big basement with three arcades and a couple of game systems set up. Unfortunately I'm probably pretty far from most people. Either way, count me in! Have LOTS of good trades.....
Lauren Tyler
CT, you say? If we were to do something at your place, I could probably take the train down there. That is, if you're willing to pick me up from any possible train stations you might live near?

That is, if you're willing to pick me up from any possible train stations you might live near? I suppose that would be possible. I think AmTrak has a stop in Berlin, CT, which is about 10 minutes from me. If there was a group from the Boston area you guys could come down together... Or I could just drive up there like I used to do. Either way, it would be nice to go to a meet again.
kisrael
I could drive 3 other people.
AtariRx
I could drive 3 other people. Well that would be almost enough for a meet right there... If enough people chime in, I'll try to organize something. Anyone have a date in mind?
chadtower
Beer and tourney... I say have a beer gaming tourney... does Wii sports have a ping pong? Beer Wiipong.

And Christian, if you're planning a meet, try not to make it right before or after Easter weekend, since Easter weekend is AnimeBoston 2008, and that will leave me financially drained no doubt. TheDentist
I'm also working at Anime Boston, so I'll be busy the two weeks leading up to it.

Why exactly does going to Christian's cost you a bunch of money?
Keir
That would be my fault.
chadtower
I thought we convinced you to stop mugging guys outside the building?
AtariRx
Well, if something in the Boston area doesn't work out, I'd still be willing to put a gathering together in CT. I got together with a couple of local guys a few weeks back for some trading. Nothing big, but a fix is a fix!

Why exactly does going to Christian's cost you a bunch of money? I think he means the money he usually spends on games. I know he is usually drops a bit of dough at these meets.
