Spirantho
Showing the original version amongst other versions of the same game with a different title will hopefully be featured in the near future. That's a nice can of worms, right there.... ... how will you know which came first? For instance, will you highlight "Go Go Home Monster" as the first known version of "E.T. Go Home"? Also, in your example you say the NTSC version is the original... but they're the same game, just in different flavours. How to decide which came first? I suppose if you have the release dates it's possible. It's a good idea, though! Perhaps just only highlight the ones we know as being original versions. Rom Hunter
Spirantho, Showing the original version of a game (in black bold) on our game lists is an option we already have for a quite a long time now. I guess you've never noticed the option before. Click on Original version on the Advanced Search Screen to see them all: http://www.atarimania.com/rech_advanced.ph...amp;TYPE_CODE=G For example, the Pole Position displayed in bold here is the original version: http://www.atarimania.com/lst_soft.php?SOF...age=1&OK=OK Here are all the PAL originals: http://www.atarimania.com/lst_soft.php?MEN...n_sauver=Search Here are all the NTSC originals: http://www.atarimania.com/lst_soft.php?MEN...n_sauver=Search And here are all the original proto's: http://www.atarimania.com/lst_soft.php?MEN...n_sauver=Search BTW: NTSC always comes before PAL if both versions were released. Also, for better overview, I decided to give original Atari releases priority to original Sears releases. Anyway, the original version of a game is now also displayed in white on a game's entry page: http://www.atarimania.com/detail_soft.php?...3494&MENU=2 Enjoy. Too many wavey smiley faces ,but interesting none the less.I like how at the end the president/ceo of Atari predicts that they will be the leaders of the video game industry for the next 50 years...lol.. if only he knew. Rom Hunter
From now on, the original version of a certain game will also be shown (in white) between different titled versions of the same game. For example: http://atarimania.com/detail_soft.php?SOFT...3960&MENU=2 In short: originals can now be found in an instant. Enjoy. swampjoe
Amazing... another amazing feature of an amazing website... i just can't wait to see the manuals scans added to the giant database of Atarimania.
Rom Hunter
Manuals will certainly be added, but cart and boxes have first priority. Expect a motherload of videos too. BTW: In our Top 100 lists, if you click on a title that's spelled exactly the same as the original game, you'll be directly linked to the original version of that game. Phoenix
As everyone else has said, this new feature looks brilliant! For some reason though my IE dislikes AtariMania at first... 1 out of 3 times the page will load. I've just managed to get it to load now, however this is what happens before it finally loads.. .. Most of the time it just hangs on that, don't know why. I think it's about time to change web browser... Thanks again though Rom!
Rom Hunter
Phoenix, Loading the videos (or game entry pages containing a lot of videos) can take some time.

Thanks for the respone Rom, however the page goes like that no matter what I load on Atarimania... whether it's just Atarimania.com or a direct link to another page, I'm never able to browse Atarimania.com properly.. it's a shame
deathtrappomegranate
We have checked out many pages on the site with IE, Firefox and Opera, and haven't encountered the problem that you have. Maybe reinstalling the browser would help?
Omegamatrix
Nice feature. I personally have the front page and advanced 2600 search bookmarked as I find it takes to long to go between them. I realize there is more than one advanced search, but my internet gets throttled all the time so I can't be wasting clicks in between. A direct link from the front page would be nice. Rom Hunter
Our site now features the classic Channel 4 documentary Thumb Candy - A Brief History of Video Games from 2000: http://www.atarimania.com/lst_video.php?PA...n_sauver=Search In one part. If you've still never seen this one before, do it now. IMO the best classic video game documentary ever made. Enjoy.
