Emehr
Is there any way to encourage posters to the marketplace to not completely mangle the subject line when an item is sold? Perhaps instead of replacing the entire subject line with "SOLD!!!!! Please lock!", a simple "[sOLD] (original subject line here)" preceding the subject line would be more fitting. It might even encourage some creativity such as [GOING ONCE], [GOING TWICE], [GONE]. This also applies to the Wanted subforum. Preceding with "[FOUND] (original subject line here)" would suffice. It's especially aggravating when I'm keeping tabs on a thread and I go back later and can't find it because the subject line changed. On another note, is it really necessary to lock a thread after an item is sold? I don't see the harm in keeping it open unless there's an off-topic conversational tangent going on. I've never really noticed this behavior much in the past but lately it seems to be getting more prevalent. Maybe this belongs in the "Pet Peeves" thread

Hasn't had an effect yet. Maybe this should go in Guidelines. Or maybe it's already there, I dunno, I can't remember ever having read them myself. Maybe the guidelines page should be somehow forced upon guests, and new members upon joining. I think I'll go read it now.
