The PS2 had sold twice as many units as the PS3 by now.

It's a though market.

Nintendo is gaining a large market because they found them-self a new market in people that didn't play games before.

Microsoft had a advantage because they introduced there next gen ahead of the market. But i don't think they will make profit on the 360. Mainly because hardware problems and the resent price drop.

PS3 is just starting in a changing market, where highend graphics are taking competision against pure gameplay. They will catch on with the 360 sale but lose to the wii sales.

I dunno, does anybody else look at the PS3 and say "wow that looks pretty awesome, I'd totally pay $100 for that!"

That's the stage I'm at. I'd really probably go to $200, but let's not tell sony that...

Sony should feel proud, I'm only willing to pay $50 for a wii. Given that reconditioned gamecubes are $30 nationwide, it hardly seems unreasonable...

PS2 lucked out that DVD players at that point in time were very popular and few people had them. A DVD player was more than a PS2 plus the PS2 was backwards compatiable w/PS1. Also DVD's were not only cooler than VHS Tapes they were also cheaper than buying most VHS movies or close in price. The thing is their was a huge leap in graphics/sound from PS1 to PS2.

The PS3 offers a movie format that few understand, I see them at Best Buy showing the comparison, and I am like look at that they are purposely screwing up the TV so that Blue Ray looks less blury. Don't get me wrong I was one of the fools that upgraded to HD-DVD last year. I think this year w/less confusion in the market PS3 may sell more units as Blue Ray players. I think the game system everyone wants is the Wii. I hear plenty of non-gamers talking about the Wii.
