I was Just wanting to if the C.G.E ever comes to the following places:

Kansas City Civic Center -- Kansas City Mo.

Bartle Hall Trade Center -- Kansas City Ks.

Overland Park Trade Center -- Overland Park Ks

If so, where might i find Information of when it might appear next ?

I'd really love to go but just can't get the money to go to Las Vegas

Russ, CGE will most likely stay in Vegas for years to come,

But there is a 50/50 chnace that St.louis might be the future

home of Jagfest. I can't say for sure since the planning

comitiee is still working out the details.

My understanding from past conversations is that Vegas is the "permanent" home of CGE for a while for a number of reasons. It's "centrally" located in the US, so you avoid that whole east/west coast thing. Folks from other countries want to see a city like Vegas when they come in, so the tourist factor is a big part. Except for gambling and airfare, Vegas is pretty cheap to visit, stay in, and eat at. Plus, Vegas is internationally known for "gaming" in one way or another. The city LOOKS like a freakin' arcade!

I, for one, this Vegas is a perfect city for CGE.

Excuse me, what?? Vegas is centrally located???? Maybe if the east coast was Colorado. Vegas is WAY west. Centrally located would be more like Dodge City Kansas, or MAYBE Denver Colorado. Topeka Kasas even. But VEGAS? Central? It is to laugh. :D

As mentioned in the previous message, "centrally" located meant "not on a coast." Des Moines, Iowa; Dallas, TX; and Topeka, KS are all "centrally" located in my eyes. Hell, even a po-dunk city like Louisville, KY is "centrally" located. ;) If they wanted the true "geographic center" of the U.S., it's about two miles northwest of Lebanon, KS. (All that's there is a stone column, a picnic table and miles and miles of wheat fields.)

In other words, isn't really north, south, east, or west in the U.S. - it's just sorta "in the middle -out there - though a little south-western-ish."

I remember talking with the organizer years ago about the location for CGE.

Main points that I know of for Vegas have been:

- location draws more people due to the variety of things that can be done in Vegas

- working arrangements that were already in place from previous World of Atari show

- easier to get a discounted flight to Las Vegas than to places in the midwest and other locations due to the high volume of traffic

At the time I put in a suggestion for Denver, CO. And I remember LA or Aneheim, CA were also. But Vegas had the most to offer for attraction of people. I would imagine the location helps with the drawing in of celebrity's to the show.

Plus gives people on the west coast a close by show since there's the Philly Classic and Midwest classic shows.

All the above is IMHO and does not represent the current oppinions of CGE and staff.
