This round is going to be a special round, thanks PressureCooker2600 for helping with this.

The game is Joust. All rules will apply for our HSC, but instead of competing with each other...we will be competing against players from the 7800 HSC who will be playing the same game. At the end of the round, the HSC with the highest total points scored will be crowned the winner.

Competition time frame will be based from the 7800 HSC, so that means the ending bell will sound on 3-09-2008

So lets get going, Joust is a ton of fun and lets show them what the 5200 HSC participants are made of!!!

Difficulty levels...

5200

Novice

Skilled <------

Advanced

Expert

7800

Beginner

Intermediate <------

Advanced

Expert

I take the levels we need are Skilled/Intermediate. (Skilled is the standard on 5200 version)

My honest opinion, a FAIR duel would be Advanced/Intermediate based on how the gameplay feels.

157,350 on Advanced. (Joust, especially 8-bit Joust, has been a favorite for years.)

Do I get to play double agent?

Well, I know I have a 5200 self and a 7800 self.

Of course with Joust we could have dragged in every Atari system except Jaguar. :)

My score... 169,400

Ah man, that would have been awesome. I think next month we should all do one more, with Ms. Pacman. and invite the 8-bit, Lynx, and 2600 clubs to join (is there an NES version?). Because of the difference in the numbers of users, we could do highest average score. And because that would make low scorers feel like they shouldn't include their score, we could ask players to commit before the competition started.

If we throw down the gauntlet...

That's the coolest quote ever for a game challenge!!! :D

Thanks. I felt pretty dorky while saying it. :)

So seriously, anyone else up for this? I checked and Jess Ragan can even use his silly little NES if he wants. :P

I'm down like a clown!!!!

I forgot about the NES HSC!!!

Let's get the ball rolling to see if all our other compatriots will go with this idea.

That would be a lot of fun. Who are you planning on asking?

I think a special HSC posting needs to be made for the ST for Joust.

Joust is on every Atari platform (except Jaguar).. that is the neat part. :D
