JAGUAR-HSC Contest 4-(April) Poll

So what do we want for next month? First off there is the huge competition across the high score threads for Ms. Pac-Man. Since Jagmania is the closest we have in the Jaguar world, it has been agreed that can be the Jaguar contribution to this contest. And honestly, I think it the most fun Pac-anything I have ever played. The game currently is not OFFICIALLY on any CD and after talking to Matthias I agreed not to link to any CD images that might exist from this thread. (and any links posted will be deleted) However, I will link where you can find the game itself which can be loaded by BJL, JUGS, and other means. If you have a BJL setup or JUGS and have trouble loading this, please let me know.

As for the other game, here are the choices so far...

I will take other submissions till Tomorrow, and then we'll start voting on what the other contest will be. (I saw the interest in Zero5 from the previous polls and picked it up. So all above are fine with me, and I will not personally vote unless we need to break a tie).

(a maybe for jagmania,since I'm working on getting a laptop from ubid

before next month and most of my programing and club stuff is going moved from my main to the laptop and I'llprob use the laptop to do

As for Jagmania, although I own Protector SE, I have never done anything with BJL, so Jagmania is not for me.

Well, for those that have not tried the BJL setup on the Jaguar, it is the best! If you have Protector SE or a CD rom drive (since the BJL rom is in that cart or can be loaded by CD rom) then all you need is this...

Use this adaptor by plugging into the second joystick port on the Jaguar and then connect the attached parallel cable to the parallel port of a laptop/desktop (mine is like a 12 mhz 386 so doesn't take much) and then really takes seconds to load a game. With this you can load Jagmania, Tetris, Native, Asteriods, Surrounded, and quite a few other games and demos.

 

Don't have Protector SE or CD rom (or Battlesphere)? Then you could just install the BJL rom in the Jaguar for less than $50 (and a bit of moding, fully documented)...

As you can see, many ways to get this set up, and VERY nice to have. The easiest is Protector SE/CD boot and the $15 adaptor.

I watched the video of Jagmania, and it looks very nice.

 

Btw, I voted for Val'd Isere, because I think that there's a bigger chance that people own this game, instead of Zero 5.

Cracked you up? LOL... ok. Serious about the BJL... setup is easier than you'd think.

 

Zero5 is an... interesting... game and I would hate to see it avoided since many have not had the honor of owning this .. interesting... game. Would make a fun contest.

 

(I figure Zero5 is for me what Bubsy must be like for other people...)
