cimerians
Just picked it up. If anyone is curious, its basically the same as the older controller but has rumble and is a bit more heavy. The controls feel a bit more tight too, as an example: the dual sticks dont seem as loose. Overall the new controller makes the older controllers feel a bit on the cheap side. Not sure if its worth it, I'm not a big fan of rumble. I could care less but I like it better cause its a bit heavier.
Reaperman
but it's still wireless with the old tilt, correct? what's the MSRP on them? I've actually been waiting for these using them as a reason not to buy (though I'm more waiting for a logitech knockoff version, which I'm sure is being worked on) one less reason for me to stay clear of the ps3 has vanished. Just a couple left and they'll go away in time... the controller was really a show stopper for me, as I'm a huge rumble fan. I hardly notice it, but I really notice it when it's not there. cimerians
Yes, wireless and yes its got tiltiing etc. $54.95 (MSRP) I think you can find them cheaper if you look. I have to say that the rumble feature is fantastic if your a fan of it and if your a fan of the older Dualshocks (1&2) then this controller is great. I just wish it weren't so expensive. I bet they'll be reasonably priced. You might want to try one someday, they've got a great d-pad. Sony's own controllers tend to anger my carpal tunnel problems. I have trouble with the last two fingers going out, and their controller hits me in just the wrong spot. Which is why I tend to avoid them. So are they patching support for it into some old games, or is it just going to be a 'wait a year for a release that uses it' kind of thing? I like the look of motorstorm and sega rally. they need rumble... wait a minute, I was looking for the new one, and logitech already has a ps3 rumbler--now that complicates matters... Especially since the logitech lacks gyro control and bluetooth. That kind of sucks. Edited April 4, 2008 by Reaperman
Atariboy
Many PS3 titles already support rumble, including I believe Motorstorm and Sega Rally.

Tempest http://kotaku.com/gaming/coolness/sony-con...mble-322474.php I guess it does... http://www.us.playstation.com/PS3/About/Co...ller_games.html List The above list does not include many games like downloadable games. For example I played Pixel Junk Monters last night and it featured rumble.
moycon
Hows the battery life compare to the older version?
Mendon
Hows the battery life compare to the older version? From my experience (I imported a DS3 a few months ago), the battery life is fine, as good as the Sixaxis. I'd have a full charge when starting out a session of Uncharted and after 2 - 3 hrs I'd still have full bars (or maybe down 1 bar) on the icon. I have no problems at all to report with my DS3 and like it much better than the Sixaxis. Didn't know how much I actually missed the rumble effect until I got my DS3. That's why I didn't see one at Best Buy yesterday. When does it hit the states? Tempest
Atariboy
Already has, should be in stock anywhere that sells Playstation 3 hardware unless they've sold out. All the Electronic Boutiques around here have them already. Edited April 5, 2008 by Atariboy

EricDeLee
picked up my dual shock 3 today at gamestop not bad thus far call of duty 4 does not seem to support the vibration... and that kind of bummed me out. but it does feel like the controller is well put together. it doesn't feel like i can twist it in half now lol
Atariboy
The COD4 developers seem willing to improve their game, and with the success it's had, I suspect they will patch it in eventually. I was wrong about Sega Rally, but Motorstorm does support rumble.

Mendon I agree, I've had mine for months and I've played single 5-6 hour games without re-charging. I definitely like the added weight, especially for the Sixaxis controlled games. bdog_147
I have had the dualshock 3 for a week now. I like it. Nice to have the rumble back. And I agree, The dualshock feels more sturdy then the original sixaxis.
