pseudografx
One question...If I put this on an ATR with a DOS, will it save the high scores? No. This feature was considerd, but since it was developed as a part of Flop diskmag and the editor prefered not to write anything on the disk, it was dropped. However, there may be an improved version in the future, with saving hi-scores and more nice stuff.
pseudografx
Ahhh... Bejeweled... very addictive game. Thanks for bringing it to the Atari. Nice addition... How come no sound effects while playing music... not possible using RMT? Of course it would be possible, but as the music uses all four channels, playing sfx would steal channels from the music. The tunes are remakes of MODs so they would have to be heavily modified to shrink them into three channels. We opted to have the sfx and music as alternatives - this also made it possible to use more channels even for the sfx themselves.
pseudografx
Great game, thanx for this! (and now a little article or description of any interesting techniques used during the development?? ) NRV There were really no unusual techniques used during the development, just a standard set of tools - MADS, RMT, Paint Shop Pro Photo XI and G2F. If you're not sure how we did some particular thing, feel free to ask :-)
Pengwin
Fantastic game guys. I'm still amazed at the quality of games we have coming to the A8. Keep it up

pseudografx
Oh, one more thing: If you opt for background ingame music, you may switch among the three available tunes with Ctrl+Shift+1,2 and 3 :-) This also works in our previous game Mind Blast. Rybags
I found a version (Bejeweled) for my mobile phone - tried it on the Nokia emulator. Sadly, it sucks. Great to see the Atari outdoing a device which effectively has more grunt than an Amiga 2000. Edited April 19, 2008 by Rybags
pps
-------- OT ON -------- At least for symbian 60 based Nokias there is a well done version of Bejeweled by Popcap distributed thru EA. -------- OT OFF -------- Edited April 19, 2008 by pps
+CharlieChaplin
Hey, SWAPZ is great !! I really love this game, its gfx and msx... My wife is playing similar games on the PC all the time and of course when I showed her this A8 game she tested it. Alas, she did not like it that much, because it is missing the following things (might be some ideas for SWAPZ 2): - different levels (or better a level-based game) with different level-backgrounds... - a highscore-save and if level-based a level-save (or password option or...) - extras, like bombs or stars or ... (that clear one row horiz., or vertically, or horiz. + vert. or extras that clear one of the symbols completely from the screen, etc.) - if level-based, different background-music for each level - maybe a task that has to be reached while playing (or better when finishing) the game... Oh well, my wife expects just too much from the many PC versions she has played already !!! -Andreas Koch.
