Master Of Darkness is a side-scrolling action/adventure title for the Sega Master System which is very close to Castlevania as far as looks and play style goes.

 

This title was not released in the US as far as know and was only released in Europe but is fully playable on US Master Systems.

 

The graphics and sounds are very moody in this game but they set a great tone for the game which is set in Victorian London with you on the trail of Jack the Ripper.

 

Players get two sets of weapons to pick from many of which are very similar to thoses found in the Castlevania games and there are items to restore your health as well.

 

I find this game to be quite good and i rather enjoy playing this title for the SMS and for thoses of you that might not have a Master System there is a GameGear version as well that was released in the US.

 

A very good Castlevania in my personal opinion.
