EricDeLee
Damn it! I was up early this morning hoping that the damn Beta would have been set to go.... only to find out the they delayed it due to a server issue. That really kind of sucked. Lost 3 hours of sleep .... UG! Anyone else going to be playing the Beta online?
xenomorpher
I signed up for it online, I wish I had set money aside to pre-order the LE of the game. From what I read it's not run and gun but communication is key. So basically you have to actually think and not jump around in circles fire at guys. moycon
Can't say I've ever been a MG fan. I think maybe we beat the first MG on the NES. Beyond that, I've never made it through a whole champaign.
Mendon
I'm still waiting for an Email from Konami so that I can play the game. I was one of the unfortunate ones who pre-ordered the game and received the Beta but then found that the Beta Key was incomplete. Suposedly, Konami is mailing out new Key's to people who contact them and as soon as I receive mine, I'll be joining in the fun. One question: I've heard that once you install the Beta and go online that there is a quite lengthy update you have to perform before actually getting into the game. Is that true? There is. i was told you can play without the update... but I'm not really sure. I know when I installed everything, and then had to install the update, I just left it on while I went to work. I think it takes 5 hours or so to install that last update. It was pretty slow. Signing up for the Konami ID and Game ID sucked as well. Perhaps you can do that on the home computer? Not really sure. That would be easier if you can. You have a bit of time though. I think the Beta will start on Friday from what I am hearing. Hopefully it will (well...it would be midnight... so basically Sat. Morning). I'm anxious to see the gameplay. I love call of duty 4, but it is a run and gun type of game from what I see. Heaven forbid you play Headquarters and end up on the Shipment level. Lots of points, but crap... you can die like 50-100 times. Aftrer watching the trailer, I was a bit worried about a few things. When someone was killed/knocked out... they tend to 'pass out' like they do in the Metal Gear games. What I mean by that is, generally if another guard came by, he would wake him up. In the trailer, it shows a guy pass out, and then another guy basically hearing him, and then walking over to him to wake him up. Is this Konami's way of re-spawning? You die, you have to wait a few seconds, etc? Couldn't a sniper sit up on a building and wait for you to be revived... thus getting you and the person that helped shot and killed? Or... worse... what if no one wants to revive you? What if they are running and gunning and don't care for teamwork, etc? Kind of interesting. I wonder how all of it is going to work. Mendon
5 hour update??? OUCH!!! Oh well, gives me time to mow the lawn, eat supper, and go see Forbidden Kingdom. Mendon
EricDeLee
Some people reported faster times... some... longer. I think I saw it posted somewhere that it took someone 14 hours. They use p2p for that update... so I guess it matters who is available at the time you log in. I'm not even sure you can do it right now with the Konami Servers jacked up. Good luck is what I have to say. lol
