HammR25
The only difference between playing Ms Pacman in PMC as opposed to the original that I can see is PMC defaults to 3 lives. The original defaults to 5 lives.

+Mitch
I believe in the Pac-Man collection version of Ms Pac-Man Bob added back the missing dots. So you can score slightly higher because of that. I don't remember any other changes off the top of my head. Mitch

In PacMan games the dots are your enemies, at least early on. They're just something to get in the way of getting more power pills (at maze reset) to eat more ghosts. Also, they slow you down while you eat them. Edited April 3, 2008 by Atarifever
PacManPlus
Yes, you also slow down when you eat dots in PMC, making it more like the Arcade

I don't remember any other changes off the top of my head. He also corrected some colors to make it truer to the arcade version...for example, in the first maze, he got rid of the pink (the arcade version doesn't have pink) and changed the maze border color to red and the fill color to beige...or tan...or something...that makes it LOOK pink.... I don't remember any other changes off the top of my head. Mitch A missing row was added (maze and dots) to make it arcade perfect for each board. I think he also corrected the energizers giving the wrong number of points. The slowdown when eating dots was also added I think along with some color changes. Only color change I don't really like is the pear which looks too brown to me (on my monitors at least). --Ken

Atarifever
So can we use PacMan Collection then? Because I'm getting ready to submit some mind blowing scores. It is totally mind blowing how I can trash talk all the other High Score Clubs while I cannot, myself, make it to the second intermission.
atomickneedrop
First high score 64,140. That took a while, may not be able to do better right now.
toymailman
Here's my first entry on the 7800 version. 44,180 This version, and the 8-bit version, are harder than the 2600. Even though you get 5 lives to start with the ghosts seem to home in on ya much more. They are smarter and seem to trap me easier.

toymailman
Wait are we playing with 5 lives? I'm playing with 3. Good question. I was just using the default settings when the game is turned on. Let me know so I can post a much lower score with only 3 lives.
Atarifever
Some hints for us by the way. We need to catch the 2600 club. http://www.pactionary.com/

HammR25
The default is 5 so I used 5. The default on the 5200 one is also 5 lives. The 2600 version defaults to 3 lives.
aftermac
Well, I was bored this morning so I did a bit of tallying. Here are the console totals so far (plus commentary ): 1. 2600 - 1,019,710 ( or about 1,000 points for everyone that has submitted a score ) 2. 7800 - 282,180 ( when Atarifever and I submit scores we'll be over 300,000 ) 3. 8-Bit - 221,840 ( a *bit* of a surprise ) 4. 5200 - 175,700 ( is the 5200 team getting their "Joust deserts"? ) 5. Jag - 123,800 ( doctorclu is a one-man wrecking-machine! ) 6. Lynx - 88,560 ( at least you guys are participating! ) 7. NES - ( I guess they never did find a working console ) Average score per team: Jag - 123,800 2600 - 67,980.67 7800 - 47,030 8-Bit - 44,368 5200 - 35,140 Lynx - 22,140 I do have a score to submit that will bump our score to near 300,000, but I'm hoping to do better before submitting it. So far, I think we have to be pretty happy with our team score, but keep playing! There are still 11 days left! Edit - Came up with something clever to say about the 5200 team (yes, deserts is spelled properly) and fixed a punctuation error. Atarifever
29000. I don't have the camera here with the actual score recorded, and I won't be around a computer all day tonight or tomorrow as I'm moving into my new (to me) house, so I won't get a chance to confirm the exact score before the contest ends. It was a little over 29000, but I'll take the 29000 and hope that four or five hundred points won't make a big difference to the final tally. I'll post a picture of it next chance I get. Also, in my defense, I didn't play with five lives. Not because I wouldn't have, but because I didn't know I could until I didn't have any time left to try it. Next year I'll know and my score will increase by at least a dozen points (considering how quickly I lose my lives by the fifth board anyway). Atarifever
I decided to try for less eating of ghosts and more survival. Survival... without... eating ghosts? What kind of survival is that? Yes, you will live, but one day, when you are dying an old man, you will look back on all the days between that one and this, and wish you could trade them all in for glory. Living under Inky is hardly living at all.
