Albert
Just a heads up that we're about to move AtariAge to a new, faster server to keep up with the growth of the site (especially the forums). This will make the forums much snappier, especially in the realm of operations that take a long time now (such as editing a message). We will continue to run the forums on the old server for about 24 hours, and then will shut them down, copy the database to the new server, and put them up there. Depending on how fast the DNS change propogates across the net, there will likely be a period of time where you are hitting one server and the forums are running on the other. We will have a page up that will allow you to jump to the other server, but expect some potential strangeness during the switchover. If you have any questions or comments, please feel to post a message here or contact us at editor@atariage.com. ..Al
Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer!
is it at all possible to give us a time frame for the anticipated "weirdness?" Thanks for the heads up
Albert
is it at all possible to give us a time frame for the anticipated "weirdness?" I literally just changed the DNS to point AtariAge.com to the new server. Generally it takes anywhere from 24 to 48 hours for changes to propogate across the net. Hopefully by this time tomorrow everyone will be hitting the new server. ..Al
