mike99mccarthy
has anyone ever took apart a pico beena? is it possible that sega used like... leftover neptune hardware to make these?I know about the neptune how to and it is a pain in the ass lol!! I thought that if sega were smart they would have used that hardware for something over the years
the.golden.ax
Pico is 16-bit, no 32x stuff there. AX
mike99mccarthy
thanks but the pico "beena" is a newer system that is the succesor to the original pico
Atariman
Interesting... I didn't know Sega had gotten back into that market... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Pico_Beena
the.golden.ax
Color me clueless. I has no idea Sega got back into the hardware market! That's the first thing since Dreamcast died. AX
Atariman
thanks but the pico "beena" is a newer system that is the succesor to the original pico It is pretty unlikely that it has been built on any NOS hardware from Sega. Anything left over from the 32x would have either been cleared out or destroyed by now - no reason to sit on a bunch of old hardware. mike99mccarthy
yea I see what you mean.....it would have been a good idea for sega, but it also would have been dumb to hold on to that stuff for all those years. plus most people believe there was never even a working prototype. so I guess it's unlikely. If anyone has a pice "beena" it would be cool to take one apart anyway just to see what they used. but they are jpn only.
