heres two quick tips to help you design:

1.on the back issues page at avc online(a link can be found by going to the news stand page (on site)

you can see a list of articles that was included in the fest issue or

2. just pm me asking for the pdf version of issue(it's free)

and mention your e-mail address so I can send it to you.

I've already got one entry in from vimaster(over at JS-II) for issue #4

hopefully more of you will enter to make this a fun contest.

Quick bump, the contest for issue #4 is ending soon.

winning issues will be displayed at MGC in march and at VGS in July.

also watch for news on the return of Jagfest shirt that will coincide with issue #7

being reworked on.

We have a winner for the Jagfest issue #4 cover design contest: VI-master(I sent an e-mail to him letting him know that he has won)

the winning cover can be seen here: http://www.cafepress.com/avcnews.355137772 .

Now lets get to work on issue #5 cover design contest :)

(btw: I was hoping for some more entries for #4 but we only got one :( )

also you may have noticed that the winning jagfest issues are at 6.00 each. this is basically going be the price for most of the issues

that are under 6.00 as a base price go(base price = # of pages x .045 +4.00( fest issue #4 has 27 pages times .045=1.22 +4.00=5.22 (so the price is 6.00))

if the base price is over 6.00 then it will be basically the price of the cost of printing added as mark up. the special 6.00 prices are only good til end of the

of the contest.

Also with exception of legends, all winning covers will be signed on a special page on the inside(or the winner can have it not signed at all if he wishes)

good luck to all, and of course Vi's cover will be shown at the vidcast on sunday(unless you're too busy watching the grammys :) )

besides this contest :be sure to check out the other design contest for the video game summit program and we will be having a new one in march for our newest product:flip camcorders for the VGS and Jagfest sections

We have a winner for the Jagfest issue #5 cover design contest: VI-master(I'll be sending an e-mail to him soon letting him know that he has won)

the winning cover can be seen here: http://www.cafepress.com/avcnews.362792808.

Now lets get to work on issue #6 cover design contest :)

(and saddly after I thought I would get more entries, Vi's was the only one again(thats twice in a row)

lets get cracking here.

and while I'm mentioning it AVC Online has two other design contests as well:

The Video Game Summit program cover design contest: http://avc.atari-users.net/Events/VGS_files/VGS_design.html

and our newest one to design the Jagfest and VGS Flip Camcorders: http://avc.atari-users.net/index_files/Flip_design.html

(on side note about issue #7, don't ask for a pdf version of the issue, since it's getting redone I won't have it ready when it starts

but you can ask me what will be in it (besides jagfest reports from 97 to 2007 and the jag raity/price guide, the reviews might be what they were

in the old issue, but with a changed format)

a quick note when we start doing issue #7, it won't be letter size it will be a bit smaller ( 7.5 x 9.25 Technical Manual size) and it will be perfect binding instead of staple or wire O

this is because when we did the issue before it was 66 pages with a wire o binding. when we redo this issue I estimate it will be close to 100 pages.

Also the prize will only be the winning issue to design winner.

Quick reminder Deadline for #6 is April 3rd, hopefully vimaster will send his in before the deadline.

(#7 might get delayed, I when I updated my acrobat it gave me an error saying I have to open another abode program, and now it just crashes.

so I might have to uninstall all CS Apps and reinstall them again to see if I can get it working.)

so far have I have 2 votes(jmetal and nonner) we already know nonner's vote, but I'm not going to say who jmetal voted for.

and even though nonner posted instead using the e-mail I'm going to let it count.

still we don't have enough votes on tomorrows show I will mention that voting will go on til I get enough votes or till a certain date(which ever comes first)

(if you have some e-mail problems with the e-mail link on the voting page, you can also pm your vote to me: just say "I vote for (entry 1 for #1 or entry 2 for #2))

still time to vote(vi and simon: just because you two entries are the ones we are voting on,doesn't mean you can't vote)

if we don't have clear winner after Easter,(I have 3 votes now, one cover wining, but not going to say who, I would to at least get 7 votes)

I will make the final decision on the tuesday after easter in a special video cast.

(btw the sunday vidcast started late because I was trying to get something to work and time went by so I basically played Jag ads all during the show

trying to get the cave to work but it seemed to crash)
