Seob
Hello, I'm trying to find more info about the radofin tele-sports III. I want to know if this is a 1292 compatible games system. Since radofin has a 1292, but that's a console with a joystick with 14 buttons on itand 4 on the console. My radofin has only 1 button on the joystick, and 10 on the console. Also the game numbers start with a higher number for the 1292 system. 3004 But the radofin games for the tele-sports start with a lower number. 1004 Also i have a cart 1004 convoy, does anybody have more info about the games for these system? Thanks
MiniMan
Hello, I'm trying to find more info about the radofin tele-sports III. I want to know if this is a 1292 compatible games system. Thanks Was just surfing to try and find a game for my collection and this thread popped up. Apologies for resurrecting an ancient question, but if you still want some info on these machines: The Tele-sports 3 is based on a generic chipset (Texas Instruments I believe) used by various companies in the 70s. Radofin was the most common in the UK, but you will also find similar models from Acetronic, Prinztronic, Grandstand, etc. The Radofin Telesports 4 was a re-boxed version of the same chipset and is compatible. The 1292 is incompatible with the Telesports range, but has a much larger range of games to collect for. I've not started on that one yet, so can't help you to much yet. If you're after the definitive list (barring any prototypes that might be floating around), here's the Radofin line-up. Acetronic, etc. had the same games but often renumbered/renamed/repackaged them: 1001 - Superstars (Pack-in game) 1002 - Grand Prix 1003 - Skill Cycle 1003a - Skill Cycle (large box - cartridge has controller port on rear) 1004 - Convoy 1005 - Tank War (Includes twin controllers) 1006 - Target Gallery (Includes light guns) 1007 - Super Wipeout In the 5 years I've been collecting, 1005 has only appeared on eBay twice, while 1006 only once. The others are quite common (I have a stack of duplicates if you're interested at all). Convoy however - well, I've never seen a copy (hence how I fell upon this thread). As you can imagine, I'm quite jealous
Seob
Thx for the info. Don't know where i came across convoy, but remember having the cart way before i had the console. I bought that and then i remember that i had that other cart (1004) laying around. Check it and it worked.
botje
As far as I know, the tele-sports III uses cartridges that contain a AY-3-8xxx chip. These were the so-called bat-and-ball chips of General Instruments and contained variations of the pong-games. Later versions of the chip also had shooting, and racing games. The 1292 uses an actual microprocessor, the Signetics 2650A @0.887MHz, and had 43 byts of processor RAM. It also had a Signetics 2650A @0.887MHz Video Controller that had the capability of displaying four sprites (single color, 1 sprite could use 1 out of 8 colors, the others were all one color). This Video chip also had the ability to display alternating lines as background, and provided a bar at the top that could keep score using BCD notation. Minuous
Actually the spite hardware is 4 independent monochrome sprites, any of which can be shown in any of the 8 colours, and which can be reused later further down the screen. The score digits can be shown at the top, bottom, both or neither. There's more information, emulators etc. for this system at http://amigan.yatho.com Edited January 4 by Minuous
